Speaking On The Record with Greta Van Susteren last night, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio sounded none-too-pleased with the prospect of President Obamas American Jobs Act. Really, the only job its designed to protect is his, and thats why hes put it out, he surmised. According to the freshman senator, the plan is more a political move than a serious effort to create jobs. What the president is saying he wants to do to help create jobs in America is not going to work, he said. As Rubio sees it, Obamas plan goes about things mostly wrong:

Tell it like it is Marco!
Rubio does impress me, as well!
Instead, he is just using it as a prop and an audio-visual aid.
"Here's my bill! Here's my plan! I've done my job! I Can't do any more. Love me! Love my Bill. Love my plan."
He sure has a way with words! I’m always impressed.
If they would just abolish the “EPAs” of every city, county, state, and the federal epa, you would be surprised how fast things would pick up and how low the price of fuel would be.
bttt
He has a way with words becuase what he says comes from his heart and soul and out of love for the country. He doesn’t have to THINK about what he wants to say...he just says it. His words flow and they make sense. He is a very fine young man and hope whomever gets the GOP nomination that Marco Rubio will get the second spot. He is young, energetic, hard worker and believes what he says and wants to fix this country. He is so youthful looking and has a beautiful youthful family as well. What beautiful addition to the Vice Presidential Quarters they would be and what a beautiful addition to WH events they would be. God bless him as he blesses our country.
To bad he can’t be VP or President since his parents were not born in the U.S. He probably would be a good one. There are others out there that will be good too.
i have never heard that. Who says that?
Yes, I agree. And he does have a lovely family, which would be a relief!
Oh yes. What a welcome relief that would be to be able to enjoy the First Family once again. I am praying he will be the VP choice.
Ignore this. There is nothing that says a person’s parents had to have been born in the US to qualify as a natural born citizen for the purposes of running for President. It says only that the individual himself has to have be a natural born citizen of the US, and the qualification for being a natural born citizen of the US is being born here (or on US territory, such as a military base). Even if Rubio’s parents had been US citizens at the time of his birth and he had been born somewhere else, he wouldn’t be a natural born citizen. But he was born here, and the citizenship status of his parents doesn’t matter.
This is why Obama’s place of birth is so important, since nobody disputes the fact that one of his parents (his father) was not a US citizen and in fact had no intention of becoming one. But it is not this that would disqualify Obama, and nobody has even suggested that. Instead, it would be the fact that he had been born somewhere other than the US (Kenya or British Columbia), if that could be proved.
Rubio was born in the US. His parents were refugees from Cuba and hadn’t gotten through the citizenship process at the time, but he was born here well after the family had been living here and there’s no dispute about it.
There are a few people on this board who have made up their own citizenship rules, but neither any reasonable interpretation of the Constitution nor actual precedent supports them.
Thank you. I haven’t heard from the person who said this since I questioned him/her about it.
