Government Races to Close Billions in Renewable Energy Loan Guarantees
National Journal ^ | September 16, 2011 | Amy Harder

The Obama administration is in a race against the clock to close by month’s end more than a dozen renewable-energy loan guarantees totaling $9 billion. Of that, just over $3 billion would come from the federal government’s coffers.

It now has to do that amid an escalating political battle over a federally backed solar company spiraling into bankruptcy and facing an FBI probe. President Obama once praised the company, California-based Solyndra, as “the true engine of economic growth.”

At a House hearing Wednesday, there was bipartisan concern about risking more taxpayers’ dollars on renewable energy projects that ultimately fail. While Republicans’ rhetoric was more heated, Democrats agree it is a critical issue.

Gotta keep the scams going against the taxpayers and get these loans into the hands of ‘RAT donors before the GOP starts putting people in jail.

Just a few weeks ago Obummer said that unless the debt ceiling was raised, he might have to hold up the Social Security checks. Don’t imagine that he wanted to hold up the green energy kickbacks to his campaign contributors. no no

Not another dime until the last fiasco is cleared up and we know where the money is.

The myth of solar energy for practical use by the masses is coming undone. It was Zero's hope that we had $8.00 gasoline with $225 oil by now.

Community organizers are not economists and geologists. Union croneys are not industrial engineers who calculate manufacturing and process efficiencies. Municipal employees do not work on bringing the cost of government down. Federal employees do not make our engine of productivity more efficient.

Those are absolute truths which can only be ignored for so long.

Green loans and grants are going to be discovered to be nothing more than money laundering for the political aparatus in Washington DC. For every $500K in contributions the net return was about $10,000,000.

The money is appropriated in the stimulus.

The treasury writes the checks.....if they get it done before Friday 09/30, end of the fiscal year.

After that, the money is gone, whish, disappears

Billions means nothing to these thieves anymore. I say vote the bums out but we only have control of our own congressman and mine is only half a RINO. In NJ that’s saying something.

The super comittee had best put that 10 billion in with the 1.2 trillion they’re tasked to find right away, otherwise Zer0 and Chu will waste it away on something stupid.
