Today, a top national restaurant chain partnered with First Lady Michelle Obamas Lets Move childhood anti-obesity campaign. Last year, that same company received a waiver exempting it from some of the most stringent mandates of ObamaCare.
Michelle Obama visited an Olive Garden restaurant in Hyattsville, Maryland today as Darden Restaurants announced that it would reduce the amount of calories and sodium in its menu by 20% over the next decade.
Darden Restaurants, which owns Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Longhorn Steakhouse, Capital Grille, Bahama Breeze, and Seasons 52, received a waiver from Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius on October 26, 2010 allowing the company to avoid some of the insurance mandates of the Affordable Care Act, commonly known as ObamaCare. The law eventually outlaws mini-med plans to offer low benefit levels to low-wage employees. But companies can keep their mini-med plans if they can show that they couldnt afford to comply with the law.

this is one reason why smart companies stay out of politics
Darden’s is on the dark side and will get no more business from me. I liked both Red Lobster and Olive Garden (I know, I know, it’s not REAL Italian food), but I’m not going to give them any more business. Let the left eat there!
The new definition of the word diverse in this context is: non-white, any person who is not Caucasian.
Omfg!
Omfg!
Bleck.
Can you imagine trying to tap that?
LOL. I thought for a minute you were correcting my spelling.....oh, wait....
The Olive Garden lowest calorie meal = 0 calories ... eating at a competitors restaurant!
I think Rush is short-sighted in this evaluation. Boycotts do work. He just doesn’t want to follow the lib game-plan. But that’s just like saying if they use guns we shouldn’t use guns. It’s a proven tactic. And ever since I found this site I can tell he reads it. He uses too many comments from this site to convince me otherwise.
It is just Obama's way to help them, the waiver getting chain, increase their profits. His thinking: If the govt. promotes the chain for being "concerned" and then, in Obama's mind, this will make more customers go there...and since the portions are smaller, cost for the restaurant is reduced and customers are increased. That is Obama's idea of economics.
Thing is, fewer people are going to want to pay full price for less food on their plates. And the restaurants who are in Obama's back pocket will soon feel the pinch in their pockets. It will "serve" them right when they find their restaurants failing as a result of this stupid relationship and plan by the prez and his wookie wife.
So do Pimps.
support local restaurants...
No problem.
Wondered what payoff they were getting now we know. Obama’s going to start calling in IOU’s.
Do you want to know what the worst thing about this is?
It’s the fact that my eyes can never “unsee” it!!!
The overwhelming stench of corruption is coming at us “fast and furious” these days, isn’t it?
Sure is.
Shocker.
I read earlier this week that the Darden Restaurant outfit made a list of businesses supporting Planned Parenthood.
Now I have two reasons not to go to their restaurants.
