Kara Kennedy, the oldest child of the late Sen. Edward Kennedy, died after battling lung cancer. She was 51.
Patrick Kennedy, a former congressman from Rhode Island, said his sister died Friday at a Washington-area health club.

Well look at the bright side; If she’d been forced to use Obamacare, she would have died a lot sooner.

Did she overdo it on a treadmill?? Did it run out of control and wind her beyond recovery?

I believe the former senator Charles Percy also died.

l Let's put it this way: I don't trip all over myself trying to prove just how compassionate a conservative I am. I have no particular use for the Kennedys or the Mondales. They're despicable people, responsible for much evil in the world. Their support for abortion alone is enough to remove them from my sympathies.

Perhaps this was more like a Sanitarium than a Health Club as we think of them today.
Either way, it’s strange she didn’t die at home with family, if this was due to a long illness.
I would think the Kennedy family would a more desirable way to go.

Yes, the Kennedy’s were trash, but consideration of those who have recently died, reflects on the person extending it, not the person who died.
If we’re talking about Hitler, Charles Manson, Ted Bundy..., I’ll sign on to being glad and expressing it on day one. If it’s someone else, particularly an extended family member of someone who was a lout, I’m not interested in showing disrespect for them the very day they die.
I remember when Nixon died. The left crawled out of the woodwork to disparage the man the moment he passed on. When Clinton dies, they’ll mourn him like he was a Winston Churchill.

Patrick Kennedy said she died at her regular health club from a heart attack. Not unusual; chemotherapy can damage the heart. My wife has mild cardiomyopathy because of it, but does well will medication. She’s 44 but she’ll never run a 5k again (and she used to.)

Her children are pretty young, 17 and 15. In fact the older child will turn 17 on Monday.
I’m 53 and I find this all quite sad. At least my own child is all grown up now.

My first thoughts exactly.
It is a sad and unfortunate event that this woman died so young; I would not wish that on anyone. But she did, however, outlive Mary Jo Kopechne by nearly a quarter century, or 23 years.
