Dianne Feinstein needn't worry about poll results

Everyone is asking about President Obama and Sen. Dianne Feinstein's approval ratings taking a dive in the latest Field Research Poll.

Let's see: Obama has dropped to 44 percent and Feinstein is down to a 41 percent approval rating.

Give me a break. I would have been happy to have those kinds of numbers when I was heading out of office.

Unfortunately Willie is correct. If in 2010 California would stick with Barbara Boxer in the middle of this economic crisis over an accomplished Republican business woman there is little hope of unseating Feinstein.

The rest of the country will have to save us from ourselves by marginalizing their power in the Senate.

Well remember when Barbara Box o Rocks was in so-called trouble with her re-election bid against Carly Fiorina but those Kookifornia idiots sent her back to DC and the race wasn’t all that close afterall.

Blame the CA state Republican party that has eunuched itself.

Willie’s a great guy and very cool.

I run into him at a few restaurants I go to including my favorite Gary Danko.

Got to get back up there. I love that place.

California is owned and operated by the government unions and a couple of us conservative wackos hiding in the wilderness are not going to make much difference.

I live here and Carly Fiorina ran a horrible campaign. Boxer, of course, used SEIU, ACORN, the Colleges (free college age campaign workers), the Public Employees and the Grievance Crowd to win.

It wasn’t close.

Boxer is as close to a true and utter idiot that has ever come to the US Senate. She presses the “Commie” button on everything from Cap and Trade/Green (her main thrust) to abortion, gun rights or Keynesian economics.

I think that she has only sponsored a handful of bills in her career, she effectively is a stooge for Harry and the Statists.

I even occasionally see a Boxer sticker on a Prius sometimes.

People actually vote to have themselves laid off because of their party’s policies, it’s truly a mental disorder.

Yes, she certainly did and she should never have run in the first place. We had a candidate who probably would have defeated Barbara Boxer if he could have got the Republican nomination. His name was Tom Campbell. Yes Campbell is more liberal than I would have liked and my views are actually closer to Fiorina but Campbell could have won. Instead the idiots in the primary put in Fiorina and they essentially elected Boxer. Campbell had huge appeal to moderates. Fiorina did not.

We have to accept the fact that a true conservative cannot win a statewide race in the insane asylum known as California. A moderate is the best we can hope for. I said this on this forum at the time and was blasted time and again for supporting Campbell. Well know the Fiorina voters have reaped what they have sowed. We have the wretched Boxer for 5 more years. I'm still mad as hell about the whole thing. For all you Fiorina voters, go and play in the traffic.

Fiorina was a bad candidate, but at the end of the day, I don’t think Tom Campbell had a chance. In the primaries, he always sounds like someone who can get moderates to vote for him, but it would never materialize in the general election. There was no compelling reason for them to vote for Campbell. The fact that he realizes Republicans are evil is nice, and it cuts down on the criticism, but it’s not going to make people pull the lever for him. I heard him speak- he’s very serious-minded and sincere, but at the end of the day, he can’t offer one reason for people to vote for him, except he will save them from the partisans. And in the general election, not matter how far to the left the GOP candidate is, they will still be portrayed as a radical wingnut. But hey, it would have been worth it to see the smug Mr, Campbell, who is better than everyone, have to deal with it. But Campbell had 0% chance of winning.

Rubbish. Tom Campbell is a smart and serious guy. He’s no buffoon like Arnold. As I said, he’s a little too liberal (again a relative term) for me but he’s infinitely better than Boxer. Plus there would have been one more Republican in the Senate and that would have huge implications. Now we have the idiot for 5 more years.

Campbell was polling ahead of Boxer and Fiorina was polling behind Boxer. I respectfully disagree that Campbell had zero chance of winning. He was an excellent Representative when he was in the House. He also had quite of bit of money behind him. He is well connected.

Of course nothing is 100% in politics but he had a much better chance than Fiorina of defeating Boxer. You may think that there was no compelling reason to vote for him but who did or does have a compelling reason to vote for? Give me an example. Isn't defeating the wretched Boxer a compelling reason enough?

Tom Campbell is a smart and serious guy.

Wasn't talking about Tom, I was talking about the stupid meme, but he can win.
