Obama Unveils Deficit Plan Containing $1.5T in Tax Hikes, GOP Cringes

President Obama, drawing immediate condemnation from congressional Republicans, unveiled a new deficit reduction plan Monday anchored by $1.5 trillion in new taxes.

The president, announcing a plan in the Rose Garden that includes more than $2 trillion total in entitlement cuts and tax increases over the next decade, rejected demands made last week by House Speaker John Boehner. The speaker had said tax hikes should be off the table as a newly formed bipartisan committee meets to extract long-term deficit savings.

Fair share should include EVERY American. Let's see what zero has to say about taking away some food stamps from his welfare crowd.

Doubling down on taxes and class warfare...with Warren Buffett as his fig leaf. He’s trying to rally the Rat base to keep the primary challengers away.

Fair share? That’s $10,000 per person per year, man/woman/child, poor/low/middle/high/rich-class. $28/day, everyone. Surely everyone can manage to earn & contribute a paltry $28/day, right? No?

This is the great Rat problem...Bayh is good with independents but he is not in tight with the wacko leftists that make up the Rat base. The environazis, the gays, the blacks and the union/commies. They are lukewarm (the unions) at best and downright hostile to him at worst.

If Bayh primaries him, the Blacks come out hard in defense of Obama(the environazis too), and if Bayh is successful, the blacks and the environazis stay home in the general.

Taxing millionaires has been his plan all along. How else will free health care be paid for? Part of the wealth re-distribution agenda.

There’s only one who will stop this and close the borders...Palin.

I hafta’ chuckle at the President on this one. If he had really wanted tax increases for the wealthy he should have proposed that in 2009 or 20101 when he had a filibuster proof Democrat Senate. Its simply disingenuous for him to call this a deficit reduction package at this time...its a jobs bill. That is, its meant to save 2 jobs...his own and the Vice President’s.

GOP Cringes

"Crings"? Hardly. I just heard Boehner on Fox, and he's not "cringing" - he's striking back.

“Watch the democrats put Bayh in to challenge Obama.”

I’ve thought this, as well, but the left has already destroyed him for daring to seek out “Middle Ground”

Or how bout making food stamps applicable only to Fruits and Vegetables grown in the USA, chicken and ground meat, whole grain flour, pasta, rice, and dairy products.

No More Food stamps for Lobster, Prime Rib, Imports, Twinkies, Wine, or luxury items?

I suppose i am being “raciss”. LOL

It’s all about Class Warfare now. It’s the only card Barry has left to play.

As illustrated by the 900 people who showed up to “occupy” Wall Street this weekend, our underclass is too lazy to even put together a good riot. What comes of this will be the work of union goons, and will be largely for show.

Obama has three "plans" to use on any given situation:

  1. Tax.
  2. Spend.
  3. Tax and spend.
He'll muck around with #1 and #2, but prefers #3.

Back when the Constitution meant something, it was the Church that rode in to help those who could not help themselves and/or who were down on their luck.

Poverty is largely a spiritual issue, and it usually cannot be corrected simply with social programs and money. The (Christian) Church got people back on their spiritual feet so they could regain their dignity and ultimately fend for themselves.

Only the Church can administer the kind of ‘tough love’ necessary to keep the masses civil and out of poverty.

Let's get back to basics (where gov’t is not even in the equation) and the economic/debt/social problems will take care of themselves.

Wine and alcohol can’t be purchased with food stamps, nor can hot foods. Just saying..........
