CBS isn't doing the digging.
They're getting their material via leaks from the Issa Committee.
Intentional leaks, I might add. And Issa is managing the situation masterfully.
He's gotten a major media outlet's interest...and he's feeding their newly found hunger, a crumb at a time.
It's also a clear sign that the MSM (at least CBS) has washed their hands of Obama...

There was never any intention of "tracking" the weapons.
This is demonstrated by the fact there was no budget for any tracking devices. An individual ATF agent recognized this shortcoming...and bought two GPS systems out of his own pocket at Radio Shack!
Unfortunately, the batteries on both systems failed before the weapons crossed the border.
But doesn't that make it obvious that "tracking" the weapons wasn't the point of the program?
So, what might've been the real point? Undermining the 2nd Amendment??? Which happens to be precisely what the administration's initial propaganda was designed to do...
Make no mistake: "Fast & Furious" was a direct attack on the Constitution.
Amazing!! Is Obama HUSSEIN intentionally arming the Mexican Drug Cartels?? Are the Cartels blackmailing him? They sure have alot of material they can use for that purpose! The Democrats say they are fighting to keep the Border from being closed because of the “POOR MEXICANS JUST SEARCHING for a better life!” But this FAST and FURIOUS demonstrates their real reason for the open, unpatrolled Borders! That being to assure ample low cost drug supplies to be moved across the Border and right to the Inner Cities where it is sold and no doubt loads of those profiits go into the Pockets of that Party’s Leaders and Leeches....:-(!!

Check out Operation Castaway. No way Hillary was not involved in that one. The whole administration is up to their eyebrows in this.
They created a monster.
Now they have to take it down, but they are walking softly because they are afraid of it.
CBS actually were the first ones to broadcast the story from Mike Vanderboegh and David Codrea long before anyone else picked it up. I think there might be a little professional jealusy going there because of Immelt and MSNBC’s cozy relationship with this admin.
Then again, there just might be someone left at CBS who actually cares about this country.

They gotta maintain some resemblance of honesty and integrity when everything they have done in the recent past says otherwise.
That’s exactly my take on this whole scandal. I remember Obama talking about how guns from the US were being used in crimes in Mexico, and I was really getting prepared to hear Obama come out and demand more gun regulations aimed at preventing this...
I think Obama misjudged how much power he really had and as soon as he opened his mouth about the dealers and guns going into Mexico that alerted many of those who were in the operation itself that things were NOT as they seemed to be - that the outcome from this operation had nothing to do with the goals they were told about (that those involved were most likely lied to by those who brainstormed the whole thing).
Too many people knew too many different parts, and there’s no way Obama and his “friends” could control all of it... He backed off talking about gun control pretty quickly, IIRC.
I could understand letting guns “walk” into Mexico. But what I didn’t understand is why they weren’t bugged with GPS so that when they got to the cartels, we couldn’t drop some 1,000 pound bombs on them, or follow the when they were being brought back across the border!

That would not serve the actual ultimate goal of this project, i.e., disarming the American populace. The reports of all of the American guns turning up in the Mexican drug war was supposed to make Americans scream at their representatives about the need to restrict the sale of guns.
This whole program was designed to recover American sold guns to further the Government attempts to ban guns completely.
It backfired and now heads must roll. Find these people and stamp on them like cockroaches!
