Where were you last week when the Jews voted Republican in Weiner’s seat?
The tide could be changing and its smart of Perry to recognize this and make a strong statement and to try to work with Jewish groups.
Totally agree.
The NY Jews, while small in number, are not unconnected.
I know that all the reportage about the “Jewish” 9th district is that the majority of Jews in the district voted for Turner. They did not. They voted for the Dem but only gave him a 6 point margin rather than the usual 20-30 point margin. The district is only 40 per cent Jewish. There were enough Republican votes in the non Jewish constituency in that district to offset the advantage the Jewish voters gave the Dem. My point is that it is not a question of whether the Dem will get a majority among the Jewish constituency. It is a question of how much of a majority they give him. The general rule is that the less of them that show up at the polls, the better chance a Republican candidate has.
