Wow... there are some pissed-off liberals out there. They were expecting widespread destruction of the capitalist economic system and are rather disappointed!

There are hopeful signs but his expulsion from office is not a lock. There are many factors favoring him.

Yep. As I mentioned on another thread, the "media" very likely has its template readied for the "comeback kid." They're just waiting for the smallest of breaks for a polling boost to set that narrative in motion.

Obama's may be having some troubles right now, but it's still good to be king.

Agreed. Media favoritism is an important factor for this imbecile. However, it is multiple factors that favor him; i.e. vast amounts of funds; a huge bloc of votes; massive fraud, violence, a weak Republican field etc. etc.

Actually, when you look closely at the polling data, Obama’s support is eroding badly among independents, not Democrats. In other words, he has lost support outside his base that he has very little chance of re-gaining between now and 2012.

I’d be less optimistic if his support was down among Democrats because it would most likely be temporary and these idiots would eventually rally back around their Marxist messiah as the 2012 election grew closer. Fortunately, it’s the fickle swing voters that Obama’s losing in droves!

In this country today, I can not imagine any circumstance in which the Democrat presidential candidate, regardless of how awful they are, would not get 40 percent of the vote. Even in prior years that was almost unimaginable. Carter got 41, almost 42 percent of the vote. McGovern got 39%.

Clinton in round 1 only got 43%

Still, I have a feeling the 2012 election will be a lot like the 1968 Nixon-Humphrey election where Democratic voters “came back home” late in the race and it turned into a real barnburner.

No effin way this time. I'll bet the exit polling is higher than the actual totals. Traditional Dems will lie to the pollsters, but there's is no way on God's green earth that they want this guy in for another 4 years - including unions. Too many people are at their financial depths.

Who are these 39%?

I'd show you a picture, but you'd need 12 hours of eye washing.

Interesting perspective on post-WWII presidential polls.

The democrats could run a picture of a dead dog and get 40% of the vote. Liberals might not approve of the way Zero is running the country into the ground (he’s just not doing it fast enough for them) but they will still vote for him. So as far as “actual votes” go, there is still a segment that disapproves of him but will still vote for him.

If the election were today, I think he’d get 48% of the vote.

Do you think that the entire 13% of blacks are registered voters?

"If the election were today, I think he’d get 48% of the vote."

I think you're correct in that. A couple of days ago I debated the Obama presidency with my wife's friend. She confided in me that she voted for him because "he had such beautiful eyes..."

I had to walk away at that point in the discussion.

I think it’s probably in the low 20%.

I find it funny, albeit disturbing, that the sychophants of the left keep repeating that it’s the Conservatives and Republicans who have a lower approval rating than Obama...

It is interesting though, how more and more people seem to be waking up to this nightmare. I believe wholeheartedly, one has to be willfully making an effort to be ignorant of the reality of how bad things are and who is truly to blame (Obama/Progressives).

That is interesting...the most common pattern is high to low (the two Bush presidencies looks very similar), Reagan bounced around a lot, Ike stayed high (good economic times) and Clinton was somewhat inverted from the pattern (having been saved by the Republican Congress and very good economic times at the end).

Nah 48% not going to happen, no current polling shows a voting public that enamored with him. Anecdotal stories about wife's friends are useless and not indicative of anything. Right now against any Republican challenger he would lose by 50-100 electoral votes and that's all that matters baby, polls about popularity are for losers,TV pundits, and Freeeprs who are killing time before a meal.

Never underestimate the stupidity of a group of people at any given time.

The fact that we are on this board at all puts us above 60% of the electorate, at least. What I can’t figure out is how many people just don’t give a damn about any of this at all, that’s what bothers me so.

I forget the exact numbers that one study I ran across did, but the amount of people who didn’t even know who the hell Joe Biden is was staggering.

If Marist polls 39 - he’s at 25.
