Great article.
Brings to mind a few times when I’ve evaluated Black patients, or - better yet - Black mothers of patients, who try to manipulate me with some sort of appeal to my sense of supposed guilt over being White while trying to help them.
I have found it useful to simply acknowledge that they are Black and that I am White, and that there’s not a darned thing either of us can do about that, and then I ask if, given that, they want my help anyway. It always diffuses and cuts through the crap, and we get down to working together.
I think the race card has been overused, and has lost its impact on most of us now. It’s really all they’ve got though, which is sad for them when it’s lost its potency.
A liberal acquaintance played it on me a few weeks ago .... I threw it back at him, told him to stuff it -- "card's all used up, nobody believes that cr*p any more". I gave it to him pretty good. It was a while before I heard back from him again.
Good to hear how you just brought it out into the open — that totally diffused it.
People must not put up with it. Call out those who try to use it as a weapon. And like he reports about Perry — he just moved on — gave the msm nothing to grab hold of — ‘cause it was BS and everyone knew it.
A lot of people have allowed themselves to be “bullied” and “guilt-ridden” by “sensitivity classes” and the fear of “appearing” to be something that they aren’t. It’s like the Left just needs to say “Boo!” and everyone jumps.
Part of Obama’s “likability” numbers being high can be traced to this -— the person answering the poll doesn’t want to appear “racist” or maybe be on “AttackWatch.”
