Yes, I know...but Perry is the one who has the ability to reach into those deep pockets...the oil men...it is nice Perry was careful to not make the mistake of passing legislation in Texas to hinder the oil and gas producers. He was smart enough not to burn those bridges as another did.
But some of them are not happy with Rick Perry, and it's coming from establishment GOP. I think that was why the Bushes and Rove pushed back with Sen. Hutchison in the primary. Perry's too hard-nosed for them -- too much his own man. I wish I could put my finger on that article. It had to do with those tensions.
But you are right there are many, many business owners who are desperate to get the boot of government off their necks. The economy will let loose once it does.
That's why the EPA has Texas backed into the corner (Perry was the only governor who wouldn't sign off on their dictate), trial lawyers are preparing their fight ($$$$$$$) against Perry, and unions (teachers #1) are again going to be the number one money and muscle for Obama (right behind the lawyers).
