Dane County has officially rolled out the "Not Welcome" mat for gun toters.
County Executive Joe Parisi signed a resolution Tuesday, passed unanimously at the Sept. 15 County Board meeting, that will make it illegal for anyone except law enforcement officers to enter a county-owned building armed when the state's concealed carry law goes into effect on Nov. 1. The resolution states that all buildings will be posted with signs at the doors informing people that guns aren't allowed.

More racist hate mongering.
CCL folks need to demand gun lockers be installed outside of all ‘no carry’ gubmint run facilities.
Discrimination plain and simple.
Let me start out by saying, I will be getting my own CCL soon and plan to “carry”. With that said, as a County Supervisor (in another Wisconsin county, NOT Dane) I have to agree with the proposed ban. Often times there are individuals who enter county buildngs who are upset for a variety of reasons. These people are the very type people who would indeed, do harm to a county worker who might be just doing the job they are required to do (such as collecting property taxes, receiving traffic ticket payments, issuing various permits, etc.) “Upset” and unstable people are everywhere. Hopefully, they won’t be issued right to carry permits but then, who knows? I will bet on the “stable” ones.
Since when do unstable people follow gun laws?

Local governments scramble to repeal gun restrictions
City and county officials across the state are scrambling to undo local ordinances restricting firearms before a new state law takes effect Oct. 1. The law imposes personal fines of up to $5,000 for local officials who overreach state gun regulations.

Will the criminals there obey such laws? No, I didn’t think so....

That may be. However, such people are not going to be deterred by a sign saying, "No guns allowed."
If you are willing to install metal-detectors with trained personnel at every entrance along with sufficient armed security to stop anybody who crashes the gate, then you might accomplish something; but at great cost.
"Gun free zones" are the favored locations for mass murderers. There have been very few incidents at gun shops, gun shows, and police departments.
