Riehl: Is Rick Perry Done?
Conservatives 4 Palin ^ | Sept. 23, 2011 | Dan Riehl

Posted on 09/23/2011 9:16:39 AM PDT by RobaWho

Everyone here in Palinville who looks forward to good hard competition will be relieved to know that Gov. Rick Perry was NOT drunk at last night’s debate, all appearances to the contrary. It’s just that before taking the stage he inexplicably chose to receive a Gardasil shot, one of whose known side effects is mental slowness.

I heard about the whole pre-debate immunization from Michele Bachmann’s Twitter.I could be wrong on that. It’s just the information I received.

But enough about my opinion of Perry’s debate performance, let’s hear Dan Riehl’s …

McCain was declared ‘done’ in late 2007.

I wouldnt worry too much about it. It is an anti-Perry article coming from a pro-Palin website.

Obummer is on the thick side, but he would have no problem taking out thicker Perry. He would not do the easy attack over social security, he would go for the throat.

Is Perry the best debater? At this point, it appears the answer is no. But there is still time to improve before he goes up against Obummer, and at this point I my primary vote would go to Perry (although I do like Bachman).

Join me in prayer that she will announce and save the Republic.....right after she’s done with her bus tour and making her next outdoor reality TV show.

The thought of Romney winning the GOP nomination should make every sane American and true Tea Party conservative collapse into a pile of tears. I have nightmares about Romney, Perry & Obama being the office.

Granted, Obama is intentionally destroying America from within and aiding our enemies from abroad, in open & hostile opposition to his sworn oath of office - only a BOLD, independent, non paid for leader with no special interest debts to pay to anyone, can possible right this ship.

Sarah’s allegiance is to the People & the Constitution - she is not owned or controlled by a political party, George Soros, corporation or “hostile entity” of the United States.

For one short minute, just think about what her total, 100%, complete independence, love for country, and consistent/proven track record of accomplishment means for our nation. She can operate in service of Restoring Our Great Nation with NO DEBTS to pay to any party, nothing to hide, no corporation she’s beholden to - just pure honor, respect and service to a nation she loves. Pure conservatism, Ronald Reagan style!

Thanks for telling me that Rob. Seriously. I do not like harboring an impression based on my own mistake.

I suppose in any group of people there are some who lack basic good decency, and that includes the C4P group.

Ya know, I absolutely refuse to pray for a political savior, but I have seen posters say that we just need to have faith in her and that at some point all things will be revealed.

-- probably much more to your desire for "fair & balanced" commentary. --

I'm really not much of a fan of that "fair and balanced" baloney. Just that the insults in the C4P opening were execptionally low-class. I enjoy biased commentary, as long as it's clearly written, and either points to (or avoids pointing to!) supporting authority.

That is what I call an educated and reasoned explanation from someone close enough to the situation to understand it. I agree it was a bad night for him as well.

Last night may prove to be an undoing or may be a pothole. The key will be whether or not he really doesn’t get it or whether he expressed himself poorly. He’s got to solve one or both of those problems or he will not win the nomination.

Texas has spent 230 million dollars policing their border.

Name a dollar amount that would satisfy you?

Simply trashing the frontrunners helps only the leftists.

I explained why. Neither has a single principal or leadership bone in their body.

Try actually reading the posts, not just leaping to defend the Establishment party drones because the Party tells you too.

I love Reagan (in the political sense). I loved Palin and it’s now down to like very much, but perhaps can rise to love again.

However, I don’t think either is as pure as you think - nor do I think it’s possible to be President and be that pure. Even if one wanted to, its a blood sport and this is prize numero uno.

Rick Perry showed himself clearly not of presidential stature last night. Combative and whiny! Romney outshone him at every turn, and I am not a Romney supporter! In fact, in my opinion, Herman Cain looked very presidential, and I loved it that he said he would get ride of the EPA. Go Cain! Cool, calm and convincing!

You seriously think Perry could beat Obama?

Some of the things that tick us off about him are making others like him a lot.

Actually, at this point I think even Michele Bachmann could give 0 a good run.

>> Texas has spent 230 million dollars policing their border. Name a dollar amount that would satisfy you? >>

I don’t know if you meant to ping me on this or not, since I have not slammed him for the border, but actually I’m glad you asked.

The dollar amount is fine, but what was missing was a response like this to Santorum:

“Look Senator, it’s real easy for you to sit up there in Pennsylvania where the only foreigners you have to worry about are New York liberals - and criticize Texas for the border. Senator, our Federal Government is supposed to police the border but because they wont do it, including while you were in the Senate, we have had to do the best we can - and had to overcome harrassment and lawsuits and protests to do that. So until you’ve ever actually been in charge of anything or ever lived with 1200 miles on the border, I invite you to respectfully STFU”

Ok, you would have to tune it down some, but you get the drift. If he had said that, he would be in much better shape today.
