The question is can he salvage it and make it better. I am not sure which way that might go. The killing of Bin Laden is now almost irrelevant just a few months after it happened - so I tend not to think any one single event will be totally determinative. And FTR, he did not say racists. Here is my answer to your question.

Texas cannot solve the problem alone! Neither can any other state do that. The ONLY way the problem is ever going to be solved is to make the best use of ALL available resources. That would mean that every state and local law enforcement person in the entire U.S. should be empowered and required to root the illegal invaders out and get them to INS for processing. It also means that the Fed Gov. has to do what is REQUIRED under current law when one of these people is presented to them for processing. They DO NOT get to pick and choose what laws or parts of laws they will or will not enforce!

The Perry Romney, side by side, comparison makes me like Romney more and more. This can't be a good thing. It makes Romney look and sound more presidential. I am not a Romney guy, I want Palin. Feds are not doing their job on the borders anywhere ...and according to their “laws” it is their job.
