A majority of Americans say President Obama's tenure has been either as good or worse than former President George W. Bush's, according to a new poll.
A Gallup poll released Friday found that 43 percent of Americans say President Obama has been a better president than Bush, while 22 percent say Obama's presidency has been about the same and 34 percent say it's been worse. Together, that's 56 percent who say Obama's presidency has been either about the same or worse than Bush's.
Matched up with former President Clinton, 12 percent say Obama's presidency has been better while 35 percent say it's been about the same. The majority in the Gallup poll said that Obama's presidency has been worse than Clinton's.
Broken down by party affiliation, most Democrats (79 percent) say Obama has been a better president than Bush, with 15 percent saying about the same and 6 percent saying worse. With independents, only 33 percent say Obama has been better than his predecessor while 29 percent say about the same and 38 percent say worse. Just 9 percent of Republicans say Obama has been better, while 71 percent say Obama has been worse than Bush. A slim 19 percent of GOPers say Obama has been about the same.
In the match-up with Clinton, 51 percent of Democrats say Obama's presidency has been about as good as Clinton's while 29 percent say it's been worse and 20 percent say it's better. The majority of independents say Obama's presidency has been worse than Clinton's, while 32 percent say it's been about the same and 10 percent say it's been better. Unsurprisingly, 72 percent of Republicans say Obama's presidency has been worse than Clinton's and just 8 percent say it's been better. Nineteen percent of GOPers said it's been about the same.
The Gallup poll's findings are the latest in an increasingly large pool of polls indicating how a troubled economy will weigh down a president's approval ratings and perceived success in the eyes of the public. Republicans have been hoping to harness dissatisfaction to win the White House and take back the Senate in 2012.

Even though it’s Gallup, another way of looking at the poll is that an even bigger majority says that Zero’s presidency is as good or better than Bush’s.
The 43% who say it’s better is really the hard core number who he can count on to vote for him no matter what. Forget about his “disapproval ratings” in Rasmussen. There is the core of “true believers” out there who believe either that he hasn’t moved us quickly enough into the age of the worker’s paradise, or that he’s being stingy with his stash and hasn’t handed out enough bling. They are showing up in the disapproval percentages, but you know they are going to vote for him. Many times, in fact.
Hilarious. They didn’t like Obama’s polling, so they simply changed the question.
Look at the numbers with the Clinton comparison. People are really dumb.
Bush got the ball rolling, and paved the way for Obama. But even Bush did not damage the ciountry in eight years as much as Obama has in 2 1/2 years!

They might as well have polled on whether he is better or worse than Grover Cleveland. Most people live in the here and now and don’t really care how the current Pres stacks up historically.
Most people unfortunately aren’t paying attention to facts and base their views on perceptions alone. After 8 years of the media bashing George Bush every day and at every opportunity, working hard to paint him as the most stupid, incompetent president ever while continuing to bash him and hold him responsible for every thing wrong with our country after he left the White house, combined with the past 3 years of unadulterated idol worship of the Chosen One, Lord and Master Obama who-can-do-no-wrong, I guess we should be surprised that the people polled didn’t have a higher opinion of Obama.

One gave away all our technology to the Chinese for campaign funds, gave the Chinese an unfair advantage in business and helped them catch up in the military
The other gave away our grandchildren’s future income for campaign funds and then borrows from the Chinese to pay for it, and has turned our military into another social program.
I think they are Phase I and Phase II in the program to destroy America...hard to say which is worse.
