So, by your logic, we ought to close our eyes to all of Rick Perry's disqualifiers, and accept him the same way the Dems accepted Obama?

No, I was being serious. If Perry flames out, which of the remaining potential nominees can beat Obama? In my mind, only Romney. He will likely win the nomination by default, and he'll probably beat Obama (if he can convince evangelicals that he doesn't belong to a cult). It's too bad, because in some ways, Perry was more conservative, but that's how it works.

I disagree, Tony. Obama is failing, and falling out of favor so badly with the American public, that anyone who can project an aura of adult leadership, and who can articulate a sensible plan for restoring America, will destroy him in the general.

Palin is my personal choice, but there are at least three (besides Romney and Perry) who are currently running, that can also beat him.
