Feinstein campaign sues bank, ex-treasurer over missing funds

LOS ANGELES | Fri Sep 23, 2011 9:59pm EDT

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Senator Dianne Feinstein's campaign sued its former treasurer and the First California Bank on Friday, seeking the return of millions of dollars in missing funds the campaign believes were embezzled.

Campaign officials said the action came after the bank failed to provide the campaign access to its own account records when a tangle of unauthorized money transfers and co-mingling of funds was unearthed.

The irregularities were spread across 400 bank accounts and dozens of organizations over a period of years, they said.

"You work very hard and diligently to build up a treasury of $5.2 million, and something like this happens," said Bill Carrick, a longtime political strategist and consultant to Feinstein. "It's very, very disconcerting. You have to go back to square one to start raising money."

If Feinstein permitted the woman to be a signatory on the account, how is the bank responsible?

Because the bank still has money and that fat cow of a thief doesn’t.

And that’s how the left in general and a dense vicious scoundrel like Feinstein in particular work.

I know your question was rhetorical but it makes me feel better to type out the answer.

Feinstein is a liar and a swindler, on a far grander scale than Durkee herself, and she will lash out at and cheat and destroy anything she can in order to try to minimize her losses.

That kind of behavior disgusts me to no end.

The ferocity of a mother protecting her children is exceeded only by that of a politician protecting their money.

Oh, how I love this under reported scandal with all of my being.

PS: Senator Feinstein. Don't count on this lawsuit to fill your corrupt coffers. Your 'rat friends have made the trial calendar in California less than timely. ~snort~

Perhaps the bank will investigate where this money came from and then say “OK, Toots, let’s go to trial”.

This is why people have trouble getting rid of incumbents.

Feinstein sitting on 5 million dollars for her campaign while a new candidate has to start from scratch.

Mikulski has the same advantage in Maryland.

Sitting on millions of dollars at the start of a campaign when their opponents have nothing is a great advantage.

The law should make them all start from scratch each time they run. Any campaign funds left over from elections should be sent to the IRS to reduce the debt.

What the chance of seeing that happen , Bwahahahaha.
They don’t mind voting on our money let’s see them vote on what they call theirs.

That’s what happens when you trust a Democrat with your money - Feinstein got a little taste of what it feels like to be robbed by those that claim to be in your corner...

It’s the bank’s fault?

Someone looking for deep pockets

Want to bet Di-Fi will extort the bank into a settlement by the threat of using punitive legislative power?

this bimbo and her metrosexual staffers can’t manage $5 million in campaign money but expect to be re-elected to handle $3 trillion taxpayer dollars

Mikulski’s main advantage in Maryland is the craven ineptitude of the so-called Maryland GOP in running a viable candidate against her

Its like “Oh, the other team prolly already won, so let’s just not play”

Her treasure chest of old funds she collected is certainly doing her no harm, but you are correct.

The Republican party doesn’t help us in Maryland one bit. It’s as if they have totally given up on us. We had a good man in Charles Lollar to take Steny Hoyers seat, but he got little help from RNC.

I doubt we will even get to see the republican candidate when he runs for the Presidency this year, We are almost totally ignored by RNC except for letters asking for funds.
