As Jenny lay on the obstetrician's examination table, she was grateful that the ultrasound technician had turned off the overhead screen. She didn't want to see the two shadows floating inside her. Since making her decision, she had tried hard not to think about them, though she could often think of little else. She was 45 and pregnant after six years of fertility bills, ovulation injections, donor eggs and disappointment – and yet here she was, 14 weeks into her pregnancy, choosing to extinguish one of two healthy foetuses, almost as if having half an abortion. As the doctor inserted the needle into Jenny's abdomen, aiming at one of the foetuses, Jenny tried not to flinch, caught between intense relief and intense guilt.
"Things would have been different if we were 15 years younger or if we hadn't had children already or if we were more financially secure," she said later. "If I had conceived these twins naturally, I wouldn't have reduced this pregnancy, because you feel like if there's a natural order, then you don't want to disturb it. But we created this child in such an artificial manner – in a test tube, choosing an egg donor, having the embryo placed in me – and somehow, making a decision about how many to carry seemed to be just another choice. The pregnancy was all so consumerish to begin with, and this became yet another thing we could control."

The bond between twins, especially identical twins, is greater than between any another human beings. The surviving child would rather have been somewhat less affluent than to lose his/her sibling.

No. Neither will the parents and the rest of their families. No one ever forgets something like this. She should have had both babies, and if she then decided not to keep one, she should have given it up for adoption. At every birthday and holiday, the surviving twin and everyone else will have on their minds the murdered child.

She "wants" one more child, even though she already has children, she is 45 and "wants" another child.
One, will do nicely, mind you - more than that die because she "wants."
She doesn't "want" to look at what her choice is doing - deliberately killing another life. Nope, no looking at the evil she is perpetrating, let's just close our eyes at the absolute evil she set in motion - why, because that's what she "wants."
Hopefully, there are those who are more than sickened at this tale, hopefully, there are those reading it who will never, ever forget that this evil exists in our society because we allow it, permit it, pay for it and will answer for it.
If we don't speak out against it and call those who participate in it EVIL for that is what they are, we share in her sin and will be judged for her sin as well.
This is worse than almost any kind of crime I can imagine, a woman who desires one more child, is willing to undergo scientific tampering with her body, paying thousands (one presumes that this woman has paid for this "service" but knowing the UK's "generous medical benefits," I'm not so sure, and will now pay to destroy a life for her desire to add one more child to her family.
I can think of lots of evil ladies in the past, in the bible, in Wm. Shakespeare's literature but here we are in modern times with modern "medical advancements" and a woman who will impregnate one of her own eggs only to kill it for her selfish desire.
