Nope, he was being destroyed by the establishment long before he made that mistake. The people here went on and on about him as though he was some northeastern liberal. He is the still the choice of the Evangelicals and I'm telling you right now, no republican will win without them. After what was done to Perry, they all just may stay home.

I still think Perry will recover, I don't know if he can win the nomination, but he'll stay and fight. I also think there will be a whole lot of Texans who won't forgive or forget what was done to Perry, and winning without Texas will be pretty hard too. Sure the Paul followers hate him but there is about 25,000,000 other Texnas who have been mightily offended at how their governor has been treated and what republican think of their decision (Perry only signed the bill you know). They changed to republican a while back, I doubt if they would become democrats, but they may just be too busy on election day to vote.

Then they are fools.

I’ve liked Perry so far.

Likely, he’ll bounce back - which actually is the true measure. Anyone we put at the front of our ticket will be pounded.

If that person can take it, it will be evident quickly.

Cain will start to draw fire now. Perry claimed in a debate, to be ready for it.

Palin’s been subjected to the worst. Bachmann has taken her own rough treatment.

King of the hill, is what’s happening on our side now.

I do think, Perry *needs* to communicate and stop the mis-perception (if that’s what it is) that he’s just another open-borders globalist.

That’s certainly not going to win anyone’s vote.

Perry’s not out of this yet. Let’s see what he’s got.

I think you are missing the point.

Yes, there are those that hate Perry. But most like me were supporting Perry (as a backup) right up until/and during the debate.

We looked past some shaky issues.

And we aren’t bailing on Perry now for being a so-called RINO or even his shaky debate performances. It’s how he has insulted basically the entire base by calling them heartless racists.

This evangelical can spot a phony a mile off. Don’t be so quick to tar us all with the same brush. His prayer stunts remind me of Bill and Hill carrying that Big Black Bible around all the while they were running. I wonder what they did with it? It’s prolly in the corner where they threw it after the win. Perry will do the same.

That's a good point, winning w/o Texas can be very hard.

That's something Rush has pointed out, Perry would put us on a path where Republicans would HAVE to win w/o Texas. Just look at California. THAT's where Perry would take us.

Don't know about the others, but this Evangelical has never cottened to Perry. There is no reason Evangelicals wouldn't like Cain.
