How Cain won Florida

It wasn't fully clear at the time, but the political ground was shifting under Rick Perry's feet from virtually the moment he arrived here in Orlando for the Republican presidential debate and Florida GOP straw poll. Just how much the ground shifted wasn't apparent until early Saturday evening, when Florida Gov. Rick Scott announced the poll's results: Perry, and fellow leader Mitt Romney, and the rest of the Republican field finished far behind longshot winner Herman Cain.

.....

Perry made a big effort to win the straw poll, and a week before the voting, it appeared he would reap big benefits. He had the money, he had the organization, he had the endorsements. And Cain? The Georgia businessman received his first endorsement less than 24 hours before the voting, when Florida state Rep. Scott Plakon announced he was supporting Cain. "I met with [Perry and Romney], and they're both very good candidates," Plakon said later, "but I just couldn't get there. And my wife kept saying to me for days, what about Herman Cain?" One thing led to another, and Plakon sat down for a talk with Cain on Friday evening. The two hit it off, and 20 minutes later, Plakon recalls, "I shook his hand and said, 'I'm all in.'" Minutes after that, Plakon found himself introducing Cain before hundreds of loud, enthusiastic supporters. It was a good moment for both, but that was pretty much the extent of Cain's establishment support.

Cain = sincerity.

Perry = shallow.

Romney = phony.

If we are truly allowed to choose and are not buffaloed by the GOP establishment, I think Cain has a real shot.

Lets be clear. The dems and media want Perry or Romney. Just like they wanted McCain. Then they ripped him to shreds. They have been doing this for years. Let not your heart be troubled. Cain can win against Obama. He is the only true conservative That Can Win. Obama’s record us abysmal. They have little to argue. Experience? Like the big O had ANY?? Remember we are going after a corrupt (voter fraud, illegal contributions) billion dollar candidate. Very few can win under those circumstances. Our candidate needs the least amount of issues. Cain comes from a humble background (diffuses class warfare). Can’t use race card. What’s left? These are Obama’s main talking points. Cain can think on his feet. He is a wizard in stats math and economics. He talks from the heart. Honest Calm Articulate. I am in and I intend to fight like he.ll for him.

Cain lacked political experience.

His win yesterday in the FL Straw Poll is a political accomplishment that gives him credibility.

It is up to Cain to keep building on this.

To me, his conservative credentials were never in question. He has now proven he can win in the political arena as well.

I hope he does... it will begin to bring my faith back in the American people.

A president for the people would be a change - rather than a president for himself.

I met Cain at the Fla. CPAC. As I left I had an Epiphany. NO to Romney. No to perry. Its Cain. He is NOT political. He is ABSOLUTELY capable of debating obama. He is a breath of fresh air. He is honest. If we can get him on the ticket. No more Romney’s no more Perry’s. Please start sending him money. I don’t have much but I plan on sending him what I can. He needs more airtime!!! The more I hear him the more I love him. There is an Old YouTube out there where he wins a debate with bill Clinton at a town hall meeting. He had Clinton all flustered when he rattled off all types statistics. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vy542UgSelQ&feature=related

“Once the delegates got over the can’t-get-elected hurdle, a close contest became a landslide for Herman Cain.”

Once the people of this nation stop allowing the media to tell us who is or is not electable, we might actually have a President that is worth a damn!

GO HERMAN CAIN!

Woo-whoo! Common Sense = Herman Cain = Sincerity
Of all the candidates Mr. Cain seems the most sensible.
Forget hope, change and all the other fairy tales candidates tell. Give us Common Sense, Sensibility and Sincerity.
Go Herman. This is going to be an exciting race.

I was in another room, and the TV was on in the livingroom. Hannity was on. I kept hearing Al Gore’s voice. I had to go see why Hannity had Al Gore on his show. The person Hannity was talking to was Rick Perry. That was it for me. This country does not need a president who sounds as boring as Al Gore.

Mrs. Cain is tiny! First time I’ve seen a pic of her. Good looking couple.

This actually isn’t about the GOP “Establishment.”

Its about who will look good to the Mushy Middle - which doesn’t have a freakin’ clue.

Cain is, to those with a “clue,” an excellent candidate if not the best outright (he’s certainly at the top of my list). He is a self made man who excels at turning business around and not beholden to the special interests currently dominating Washington.

To the Mushy Moronic Middle he’s a stout, bald, black guy who talks about boring stuff.

You see the problem?

Already some Republicans are interpreting Cain's victory as a statement of voter unhappiness with the GOP field and are calling for New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie to enter the race.

That just doesn't make any sense. How is a moderate like Christie supposed to be a foil to an uber-conservative like Cain?

Proposed slogan for the Cain campaign: CAIN IS ABLE!

Kudos for Cain! He worked the CPAC crowd hard, he deserved to win, he earned it.

Last night I tried to buy Cain’s book ‘they think your stupid’ and it was sold out.

It was ranked 55,000. It’s now at 38,000.

Word is getting out!

I pray that the title has “you’re” instead of “your”.

Help give Herman Cain more momentum. Give a real conservative a lift and contribute. I just did my little part.
