How Cain won Florida

It wasn't fully clear at the time, but the political ground was shifting under Rick Perry's feet from virtually the moment he arrived here in Orlando for the Republican presidential debate and Florida GOP straw poll. Just how much the ground shifted wasn't apparent until early Saturday evening, when Florida Gov. Rick Scott announced the poll's results: Perry, and fellow leader Mitt Romney, and the rest of the Republican field finished far behind longshot winner Herman Cain.

.....

Perry made a big effort to win the straw poll, and a week before the voting, it appeared he would reap big benefits. He had the money, he had the organization, he had the endorsements. And Cain? The Georgia businessman received his first endorsement less than 24 hours before the voting, when Florida state Rep. Scott Plakon announced he was supporting Cain. "I met with [Perry and Romney], and they're both very good candidates," Plakon said later, "but I just couldn't get there. And my wife kept saying to me for days, what about Herman Cain?" One thing led to another, and Plakon sat down for a talk with Cain on Friday evening. The two hit it off, and 20 minutes later, Plakon recalls, "I shook his hand and said, 'I'm all in.'" Minutes after that, Plakon found himself introducing Cain before hundreds of loud, enthusiastic supporters. It was a good moment for both, but that was pretty much the extent of Cain's establishment support.

Cain won Florida because he told the truth about healthcare. He drew the life and death connection between access to the best healthcare in the world and obamacare run by the government.

It's temporarily out of stock on Amazon, too

And the title uses "you're" not "your."

Cain will destroy Obama in the debates. He's funny, brilliant, articulate, and charming.

Enough with the "establishment" candidates. Let's elect someone who knows how to turn bad situations around!

what will happen Donna is we'll get Romney...just like we got McCain.....the dems and their evil minions in the media are already slintering our votes and shafting the Perry....its all in the plan....and willing sheeple are AGAIN be sucked in....

I like Cain very much...I like what Bachman says....and Palin...

but Rush is sounding more and more practical these days and I agree with him....we HAVE to win Texas if we are to have any chance at all in defeating the zero....

Me and my whole family in Texas have switched from reluctant Perry support to Cain.
There is a turning of the tide.
Bachman needs to get out and support Cain.
Palin either needs to announce, or get behind Cain and fight like he'll for him.

What good is winning Texas...which is not by any means assured with Perry, and then LOSING Florida, Ohio, and elsewhere?

Many of us in TX are not in love with Perry. You have to understand that he’s the default candidate in a field of losers.

We haven’t forgotten the TTC or gardasil. He wins because the opposition is so awful.

Every election, our legislature gets more conservative. We’re trending the way of the rest of the nation.

I think Cain can take TX of he/we can get his message out.

Love the t-shirt. Wouldn’t that be a campaign? Herman Cain, natural born American citizen vs Barry Obama, American born(?)dual citizen of the US and UK/Kenya

Truth and decency has to win out over the likes of those like Obama and by “likes of” I mean liberals and leftists. I’m speaking ideology here not visual perception.

Mrs. Cain is tiny! First time I’ve seen a pic of her. Good looking couple.

Amen. What hit me was they looked NATURAL - not the plastic phoniness of many politicians. That, plus the fact that he had to meet a payroll, is a big plus, and is something he should use as a hammer.
