So what? What about the lack of armot piercing ammo for the artillery to fight off the hundreds of soviet tanks our troops were facing? What about the lack of 3.5 rocket launchers that could knock out these tanks? There were non in Korea and it was several months before we got any.
When they sent the marines into Korea they had to recall many reservists, which was good because maqny of them were WWII vets. The bad part was that many of the reservists were brand new, so new that they had not been to basic training yet. They got their combat expierience by OJT. Many of them were killed because of this.
truman screwed the goat as far as our military was concerned and he killed thousands of them before it was straightened out.
