Lately all they care about is illegals. In addition, those developments would make for a stronger work force and would boost the state's flagging economy..They all but given up on Americans

If any state is home, its Rhode Island -- I grew up at the navy base there.

Pity to see where that beautiful little state has fallen. I'm glad I've moved on.

Ever since the Mafia and the crowd from the Canaries took over they've just not been all that trustworthy in Rhode Island.

This is a place we can do without.

Is E-Verify only required in AZ? Where will these college educated illegals get a job? Illegal is still illegal, right?

The voters need to get a proposition on the ballot slapping a cap on tuition fees that the colleges and universities are allowed to charge. The “academics” will knock this kind of sh8t off.

The reporter sure twisted his words in this. You cannot immigrate to the US illegally...you illegally enter and are not an immigrant, but an illegal...RI sure votes in some idiot’s.....or if these are not people elected to make such decisions, it should be ignored...If elected they should be lose their jobs at the next election..People from other states should boycot the state colleges/university’s that make such laws.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, unemployment in Rhode Island is 10.8.% Somehow their betters managed to come up with the money to support illegals while their economy is in serious trouble.

There is a serious disconnect between we the people and those in charge. Throw the bums out.

They bypassed our General Assembly and are putting it in as a matter of policy decided by an unelected board. First state in the country to do that.

“Not the New England I grew up in “

I finally left RI 2 years ago. It had been a great place to raise my family, but no more. Providence has turned into a third world country. The illegals are very smart about working the system and the politicians eager for the Hispanic vote play right into their hands.

What I cannot fathom is the total disconnect here -- they are passing laws regulating and protecting ILLEGAL squaters. Its akin to them saying "RPG's are illegal to own, but if you happen to have one then we'll make sure you don't get charged too much for it when you buy it..."

Liberalism truly is a mental disorder.
