The whole point of secret ballots is that NO ONE knows how you voted, only THAT you voted.
Signing the ballot, thumb printing the ballot, pasting your photo on the ballot, etc. allows people who voted the “wrong” way to be punished.
And you figure that is a bigger danger than fraudulently electing a Marxist. Cool. But I am ready to risk it, unless the people have collectively decided that we must be socialists, in which case it probably won't matter.
You may have noticed that Senators and Congressman have recorded votes, except when they are stealing from us, or hiding something, then they go to unrecorded voice votes.
Maybe it is just me, but I think I would rather know how they voted, or even if they did vote.
