It is absolutely 100% is a trial balloon. We have now confirmed what many of us suspected.

As to suspending elections, it cannot be done. There is no provision in the Constitution for such a thing. Those that hold the offices have no power to lengthen their terms other than by winning the constitutionally proscribed election for their office. Their offices are created by the Constitution, and attempting to override that document negates their claim to any authority. At that point it becomes a coup.

Should they do so, at the last day of their term the office becomes VACANT, and their title ceases to exist. Any govt functioning after that would be illegal and have the status of a foreign invading power, able to be terminated with extreme prejudice and without trial.
