MyL, and all

The bottom line is that it is the responsibility of every American citizen, elected or not, to maintain our border. The Feds are indeed responsible for the actual deportation, but you, me, Rick Perry, Sarah Palin, Michael Moore and the Tupper Lake Lumberjacks High School Football Booster Club are responsible for making that happen and supporting laws conductive to that happening - not coddling and benefiting illegals by making it easier for them to stay here. All at the expense of the American citizen and taxpayer.

Do you disagree? If so, how and why exactly?

You cannot in any way shape or form legally justify one ‘illegal’ being here.

It then follows, logically, rationally and legally, that any law that assists them in being or STAYING here goes against the fact that they are here Illegally to begin with.

Do you disagree? Yes or no.

Go back to my post 2 hours ago and point by point refute it.
If you cannot, then your and others whole defense of Perry and his actions/policies on the subject collapses. I understand that you like and support him. That’s your choice. But adopting the policies that liberals themselves promote is NOT a conservative thing to do. It may not make you a dyed in the wool lib, but it’s not Conservative wither. You would be a Moderate.

Again, please refute on a point by point basis if you believe me to be wrong.

I have patrolled the border on foot and by plane in Az.(as a citizen, for free)
You call them in to BP and they round them up.
Then they get turned loose by the Feds.
Some of them end up in our jails.
Some get deported, most don’t.

It always slays me when people think I am open borders.

Norm, here in Arizona we have one of the most effective sheriffs in the country. He picks up illegals almost every day and the feds just turn them loose. We've tried holding them, we've tried taking them to the border, we've tried everything, and they are back the next day.

Unless and until we get someone in office who will enforce the laws states will continue to be stuck with the costs of these people. Texas isn't educating, they are allowing them to purchase their education at the in-state rate because for 3 years they have been paying property tax (through their rent) and sales tax (on everything they buy). But they STILL have to pay their own tuition.

I’m pretty sure that Americans tried to defend the border in Arizona. Didn’t the federal government goons insist that they knock it off? Put them on the terrorist watch list for defending the border or something like that?

States cannot deport illegals. Texas has spent 500 million dollars doing the job that the federal government refuses to do. Rick Perry has fought against sanctuary cities.

Would he meet your definition of a worthy candidate if Rick Perry were to go down to the border and shoot over the heads of a couple of them sneaking across the border?

The in state tuition was overwhelmingly passed by the state legislature. If Rick Perry didn’t sign the bill, I’m sure they could over ride his veto. Yes? Correct me if I’m wrong. The people against Perry for immigration should vent their anger at the state legislature in my opinion.
