( I think we ought to suspend, perhaps, elections for Congress for two years and just tell them we won’t hold it against them, whatever decisions they make, to just let them help this country recover. I really hope that someone can agree with me on that.”)

Well No Bev, as an AMERICAN, I can not agree with you on that. In fact as a believer in the US Constitution, I think you should be arrested for sedition.

Bev Purdue... The prime example of why there should never be a party line check off box on the ballot.

The only thing that would keep this twit in office would be suspending the elections.

Perdue’s office claims she was just using “hyperbole” to make a point.

Well, in that case, I think Bev should be impeached, dragged bodily from the governor's mansion, tarred, feathered and run out of Raleigh on a rail. < /hyperbole >

I have a better idea.

Make the democRAT National Committee go the way of the KKK. After all they are one and the same.

Well, she has a point. Elections are just too confusing for the little people, and we simply do not have the intellect to understand that the only way to prosperity is for the politicians to be given free reign to spend whenever and however they want, without restriction or accountability.

Pols of all stripes really miss the old days, when, like rats and cockroaches they did the most damage,(or best work)in the dark where no one could see them.

Didn’t the governor of North Carolina swear to uphold the U.S. Constitution as well as the Constitution of North Carolina when she took her oath of office?

Bev Perdue is being held in check by a conservative majority in both the state house and senate. If a conservative governor can be elected(not Pat McCrory), we might consider moving back to North Carolina.

Governor Perdue drew the short straw and was chosen to be the first high ranking pol to get this notion in the air.
At first she will suffer the slings and arrows that are the fate of all pioneers. After an appropriate amount of time the matter will be re-thought by some “thoughtful” columnist, say an LTF(Little Tommy Friedman, or an E.J. Dionne Jr.
It will become something to consider, and then become a movement. Next thing you know we’ll have to be screaming like stuffed pigs trying to stop this move towards tyranny, at which time we will be called Hobbitts and hostage holders for wanting to stop a sensible measure that would move the country forward. Its only a temporary suspension. And afterall,we only we to create “jobs” (emphasis on the b.s.) for the American people. For the children.

Marxists sometimes speak of what they are really thinking.

The media was all upset that clinton wasn’t in power when 9/11 happened. They said he would have had a great opportunity to shine.

Hillary stated that she much more prefers the English parliamentary system. But England does not have a Constitution.

Rahm: Never let a crisis go to waste. Can get things done that they would not be able to in normal times. paraphrased.

Now this, suspend elections because we have a crisis to address. (see rahm’s statement).

Watch for more of this talk from the dims and their media.
They see the handwriting on the wall and are either praying for or setting up some sort of national emergency where they can try to suspend elections.

“You have to have more ability from Congress,” said Gov Bev Perdue, “I think, to work together and to get over the partisan bickering and focus on fixing things.”

The last 150 years of “Working Together” instead of working for the folks who Elected them is how we Got to where this pol. has the nerve to publicly suggest CANCELING, ALL future elections.

Bipartisan is nothing more than a synonym for date rape.

Sorry, Governor, but this isn’t a parliamentary system where elections can be put off and rescheduled when they’re convenient.

In the nostalgic look back to the days when voters were blissfully unaware of the real goals of Democratic politicians Governor Perdue wants to suspend elections. Looking back lovingly to the days before the Tea Party and an informed electorate Perdue wants to stop the clock. Faced with an increasing angry public she would prefer there be no consequences to her party’s poor decisions. She feels Democrats need two years to increase the number of takers dependent upon the good graces of the Democratic Party to over 50% to insure control over the unruly bitter clingers and their own status as the ruling class.

The local (High Point, NC) morning show bubble heads blew it off as a “joke” this morning and tried to claim anyone taking her comment seriously was “attacking” her. Disgusting...

suspending elections would be a good way to combat loss of faith in government.

I think throwing out the whole lot and starting from scratch would be much more beneficial.

Let’s do that after the 2012 election when all the rats are out - then we can honker down and get the job done. I think 8 years would do it!
