Gov. Jerry Brown signed a bill that would enable the developer behind a $1.2 billion plan to build a football stadium in downtown Los Angeles to move forward while avoiding long court battles, Huffington Post reports.
Brown signed the bill at a Los Angeles Convention Center ceremony with executives from Anschutz Entertainment Group, the developer of a proposed 72,000-seat stadium next door.
Calling the move a way to create jobs now, Brown said, "We're going to protect the environment. But there are too many damn regulations. I've got some power now. Let's cut the barriers and regulations and move ahead."
Brown said the stadium, to be called Farmer's Field, would create 12,000 construction jobs and 11,000 permanent jobs.
"This is the way we get people working," he said.

"But only for these guys who're paying me off big time... and only this one time... HEY, pretending to do something is fun!"

Tax credits given to help business create jobs, see: “Legislature extends Hollywood tax credit”
hmm ... easing enviro whackoo regs and lowering taxes on business:
Two issues that conservatives have been pushing for 30 or 40 years now!
Wrong. The jackass party is not embracing conservatives principles; they are taking care of the annointed again.
This is payback to Anschultz for years of supporting ‘rat politicians and if you think the Hollywood “Tax Credit” means that the libs and the hollyweirdos are now pro business, you need to sober up. No, the Hollywood Tax Credit is just another pay - back to ‘rat buddies.
Our system works really great for those with deep enough pockets and the moral scruples of a alley-cat. I think it is way past time to acknowledge that government “of, by, and for the people” has indeed, perished “from the face of the earth”.
Yes, bribery it is, regs fall off on a case by case basis for dems. When they say it, it’s ok.

They do not profit freely, you see, they get “benefits”. And for them it’s not war, it’s “politics”, wag the dog, whereas real war of self defense against oppression is for blood for oil profit...
Is this stadium going to be the home of the relocated San Diego Chargers who started out as the LA Chargers in the early 60s?
“Were going to protect the environment. But there are too many damn regulations.”
Nice, coming from a guy that spent a lifetime increasing regulatory hurdles.
the problem is that this for a specific organization. had he really done the right thing, he would have scrapped the regulation altogether, or waived it for everybody, and not just for his pet company.
Worse, this is services whore entertainment jobs for the SEIU.
I wonder how they figure bribery and entertainment will make things livable. Indeed, man does not live by bread alone, but to eat horse crap entertainment instead of valuable insight...
