More solar companies led by Democratic donors received federal loan guarantees
The Daily Caller ^ | 09/29/2011 | John Rossomando

Posted on 09/28/2011 10:15:09 PM PDT by martosko

A Daily Caller investigation has found that in addition to the failed company Solyndra, at least four other solar panel manufacturing companies receiving in excess of $500 million in loan guarantees from the Obama administration employ executives or board members who have donated large sums of money to Democratic campaigns.

And as questions swirl around possible connections between political donations and these preferential financing arrangements, the Obama White House suddenly began deflecting The Daily Caller’s questions on Wednesday to the Democratic National Committee.

Asked Wednesday to comment on the connection between large Democratic donors and Obama administration loan guarantees to the companies they represent, the White House responded to TheDC with a single sentence: “We refer your question to the Democratic National Committee.”

Concerns about the long-term viability of Solyndra, first made public by The Daily Caller back in February, have now expanded to include the financial health of other loan-guarantee recipient firms as well.

Abound Solar is getting $400 million. One of it’s executives is Russell Kanjorski, nephew of Paul Kanjorski and the recipient of $9 million in earmarks to Cornerstone Technologies, a company he ran that also went belly-up.

A quite sordid tale.

I wonder if this is payback for 2008, an advance for 2012 or maybe both. Whichever it is, the solar ‘RAT boys sure are porkin’ out on taxpayer dollars. “Green jobs” my @$$.

The U.S. Department of Energy chose Abound out of many applicants for the loan guarantee program, which helps its recipients secure loans by promising the government will repay the loans if the borrowers can’t. Abound is only the second solar panel maker to snatch the loan guarantee. The company, founded in 2007, will borrow from the U.S. Treasury’s Federal Financing Bank, said Russ Kanjorski, Abound’s VP of marketing.

The $110 million in equity came from investors including Invus Group, Bohemian Companies, DCM, BP Alternative Energy and West Hill Investors.

Solyndra - Clean Energy is Dirty

How dare Republicans question the waste of a mere half a billion dollars on some sham company that was a big Zer0 donor. No criminal negligence and malfeasance with taxpayer dollars for political purposes here.

What I want to know is why the media isn’t all over the even worse story of LightSquared. It involves GPS, national security, a General asked to change his testimony, and is a company (previously under a different name) that BHO personally invested about $100,000 in when he was a Senator. This is what should REALLY be covered, even more than Solyndra. FNC has mentioned it on a couple of shows, but I’d bet no other networks have.

It’s an interesitng scheme really.

Destroy the current energy systems of coal and oil, plunge everyone into poverty and darkness, and set up a bunch of ****ing democrats to make billions off of “clean energy”, which doesn’t even exist.

Should be very easy for them to rule us then, I imagine.

“What I want to know is why the media isn’t all over the even worse story of LightSquared.”

You mean the same media that convinced the sheeple that an America-hating, no experience half-black guy with a questionable, un-vetted background was a better choice for President than two well experienced DC Veterans for President?

THAT media?

The same media that ran every Bush gaffe in the hourly news updates for days, on the Daily Show, and SNL weekly, but doesn’t even MENTION Obama’s far more numerous, and serious gaffes?

THAT media?

You mean the same largely gay-controlled media (They don’t call the New York Times Editorial board “The Gay Mafia” for nothing. Every single member is gay.), that sold out any pretense of journalistic integrity to get Obama elected?

THAT MEDIA?

Surely, you jest...
