OMG!!! The Times actually publishes a straight article that's fairly nice to the Perrys.

FROM THE TIMES ARTICLE: Anita Perry is described as "warm and compassionate." She is a contract employee at the Texas Association Against Sexual Assault, where she participates in fund-raising and development work.

============================================

Earlier news reports say Anita Perry's $60,000-a-year salary at the Austin "nonprofit" "Texas Association Against Sexual Assault" comes indirectly from Gov. Perry's political donors, state contractors and companies that do business with the state or have issues before the Legislature.

Of 37 major donors during Anita Perry's tenure as fundraiser, ONLY three have NO ties to the governor or state business.

Anita Perry is paid from the "nonprofit" money pool that includes political contributions. TAAS also receives grants from state agencies........AND the governor's office.

Donating to the TAASA seems to be another way Rick Perry dreamed up for those with an interest in state government to influence Gov Perry.

Non-profits are notorious money-laundering vehicles. State grants to a "non-profits" could be easily laundered especially w/ a tight-lipped family member at the helm.

No, perry said he time traveled into the future and had a woman lobby him, then he time traveled into the past and signed the decree. If he had traveled a little more into the future he could have read how bad he was mucking up. He should have trusted in his magic 8 ball, like he did on hugging illegals.

I have mixed emotions on this.

I think it is a bad idea and wrong to force mandatory vaccines on 16 year old girls for HPV virus.

However, in some “at risk” demographic communities (ie inner city ghettos, and barrios), HPV is way past epidemic proportions, it's close to 80% and it's breaking out of these high risk areas into the general public. There is, like herpes simplex virus, NO treatment for HPV and it causes cancer and many other serious medical conditions in women

This is a serious public health issue and as everyone knows it is hard to attack the problem from a abstinence strategy for any teenager, much less inner city where teen pregnancy rates are off the charts.

It is the Governor's job to deal with public health emergencies and this is a legitimate emerging health emergency. You may not agree with him, but Perry did take decisive action to try to deal with the situation in the only practical, pragmatic way available to him.

The real issue is that STDs in general are out of control in some of the inner city communities and especially the Black community.
Go look at the statistics and you will be stunned, I sure was.

Now that I am aware of this situation, I may suggest to my daughter( who is very responsible) that she consider this vaccine.

As the saying goes- A night with Venus, a lifetime with Mercury (Mercury was the only known way to slow the progress of Syphilis before effective drug treatments became available in the 20th century)

Anita’s dad was our family doctor and she was a nurse in the Haskell hospital for a while. She is warm and compassionate and a real fire plug, like her dad!

$60,000 salary? I say that group is getting a bargain.

I would not appreciate Mrs. Perry deciding which vaccinations my kid was supposed to have any more than I appreciate Mrs. Obama deciding what my kids are allowed to eat.

The more I read about this couple and the more I see of them outside of the debates, the more I like them. Last night I watched Rick on Tim Scott’s town hall gathering. For an hour and ten minutes he took questions from the audience ranging from immigration to veterans to EPA to gun control and slam dunked every single one with a true conservative message. I challenge anyone who believes Perry is not a conservative to take the time and watch it. You can find it on Youtube. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that they (Rick & Anita) are getting a raw deal from the RE and the MSM.
