THEN, I would DEMAND their IMMEDIATE resignations - the JCS ARE NOT legislators !!!
Here are the DOMA provisions, as codified in the USC:
1 U.S.C. § 7. Definition of "marriage" and "spouse"
In determining the meaning of any Act of Congress, or of any ruling, regulation, or interpretation of the various administrative bureaus and agencies of the United States, the word "marriage" means only a legal union between one man and one woman as husband and wife, and the word "spouse" refers only to a person of the opposite sex who is a husband or a wife.
28 U.S.C. § 1738C. Certain acts, records, and proceedings and the effect thereof
No State, territory, or possession of the United States, or Indian tribe, shall be required to give effect to any public act, record, or judicial proceeding of any other State, territory, possession, or tribe respecting a relationship between persons of the same sex that is treated as a marriage under the laws of such other State, territory, possession, or tribe, or a right or claim arising from such relationship.
next they will say they got married in the army and now can't be married in their state thus overturn DOMA Well the first thing the President should do when we get power is it say this has not worked, no proper review was done, this was rushes through based on politics, the Generals I have spoken to say this is not what they want, the average marine etc does not want this and therefore we will be putting in a bill to overturn this. In the mean time the GOP had better get out there and get people informed over this and scare the living daylights out of those states or areas which are not cuckoo . Then get the bill up within a week and vote on it. Once overturned then anyone thinking they were married were not. Make this law so tight that they cannot get a loon judge and also do it in a way that the perverts can never ever do this again.
