The only time I was in an Officer's Club was 15 years ago for a friend's wedding, which was not sleazy in the least, so I had no context in which to imagine what you were talking about. I appreciate your having taken the time to describe the situation.

Like you, I dread what will happen to our straight soldiers in Political-Correctness Hell as the military becomes infected with "out" behaviors. I lived in a large city and worked in the arts, so I'm already aware of how bad that can be.

Before serving in the Army, I was a guest in officers' clubs. They were exemplary of decorum.

After entering the Army, I was in several, in the U.S. and abroad. It was pretty much the same.

The one in Washington--and this is some years back--was shocking, even to unshockable me.
