Patterson died of septic shock from a blood infection resulting from RU-486. This is tragic. But it doesn't make sense. You don't get blood infections from swallowing pills.
There's more to this story. What happened to her at the clnic?

My understanding is that there is a lot of bleeding after they kill the baby and infections develop then, also sepsis can develop if they don't get all of the baby out.

Many times if you have a miscarriage they do a D and C afterwards.. to make sure no products of conception are left.
Retained “products of conception” essentially rot inside the uterus.
