Gov. Chris Christie is seriously rethinking his months of denials and may launch a campaign for the White House after all, a source close to the governor said tonight.

In the last week, Christie has been swayed away from his earlier refusals to run by an aggressive draft effort from a cadre of Republicans and donors unhappy with the GOP field, said the source, who was not authorized to speak publicly and requested anonymity.

I’m totally certain Christie could win; I wish I could say the same about Palin...

Christie: I'm not ready! I don't want it that badly.

Can anyone imagine Ronald Reagan saying anything REMOTELY LIKE THIS? (The "shackling" comment):

“Does that prohibit me from being out there, out of a box, not allowing handlers to shape me and to force my message to be what donors or what contributors or what pundits want it to be?

Does a title take away my freedom to call it like I see it and to affect positive change that we need in this country? That’s the biggest contemplation piece in my process." — Sarah Palin

>>Nothing to do with being indecisive...<<

Actually, Sarah Palin herself says she is indecisive:

“Does that prohibit me from being out there, out of a box, not allowing handlers to shape me and to force my message to be what donors or what contributors or what pundits want it to be?

Does a title take away my freedom to call it like I see it and to affect positive change that we need in this country? That’s the biggest contemplation piece in my process." — Sarah Palin

I remember Richard Schweiker. I remember Jesse Helms wanting to run Peter Buckley as a conservative alternative to Gov RWR because of him.

She quit because of people attacking her family. Apparently she didn’t know that kind of happens when you go into politics.

How am I clueless?

I am just saying what a lot of people say about her to raise the point this would be a big issue. I have met a lot of otherwise conservative people who say something similar; the right is not a monolithic representation of FR. I have a lot of respect for her and think she is a great proponent of the conservative cause.

Been here quite awhile.

And I’m not saying I agree with her, but that is what many of the REAL PUBLIC think about Sarah Palin, and not just liberals.

My wife is not that as politically inclined as I am, so her comments are more representative of what the general public might say.

I forgot about that other flaw. Thanks for reminding me, its more ammo to use when he declares.

Chrissie WHitman was even worse, She and her liberal RINO bagman, Lewsi Eisenberg, actually campaigned AGAINST Oliver North in VA when he was nominated to run for Senate.

The New Jersey RINO is every bit as dangerous as a Democrat - trust me.

McCain apparently flirted with becoming a Dem; I don’t see Christie doing that in NJ]

Actually, in his past, Christie DID just that.

She stated that she quit because of the law suits. They were bankrupting her. She wasn't even allowed to set up a defense fund.

Your above comment is way off and it looks like posters are letting you know about it.

He also had a long-running radio commentary he wrote himself that covered every issue and gave the nation a chance to know him personally.

Sounds a lot like.....FACEBOOK!!

..............

Only until you read the depth and breadth of Reagan’s radio messages.

Fair enough.

I can understand that, but the perception sticks.

The only people who know that’s involved in her quitting are already conservative. Moderates/independents just see her quitting and that’s it. That is a big issue that will require a good PR campaign to correct it if she runs.

“Christie is not pro-abortion” got that from another poster so stand corrected.

I may have assumed he was after listening to one of his early anti social conservative rants. Or was it his pro gun control or pro cap and trade or pro government run health care or pro amnesty or pro islamest on the court one of those other highly conservative positions he takes.

Be careful what you wish for.....
