ISLAMABAD (AP) U.S. accusations that Pakistan is supporting Afghan insurgents have triggered a nationalist backlash and whipped up media fears of an American invasion, drowning out any discussion over the army's long use of jihadi groups as deadly proxies in the region.
The reaction shows the problem facing the United States as it presses Pakistan for action: Strong statements in Washington provoke a negative public response that makes it more difficult for the army to act against the militants even if it decided it was in the country's interest to do so.

Impossible. Obama's endless muslim outreach efforts were going to usher in a new era of peace and understanding.

One small private television channel has aired an advertisement that features images of Adm. Mike Mullen, America's top military officer, and Leon Panetta, the head of the CIA, along with scenes of the Pakistani army fighting and raising the country's flag.
Each time the Americans appear, a shrill voice sings: "Enemies, you have challenged a nation which has a growing knowledge of the Quran and the support from Allah. Our task in this world is to eliminate the name of the killers!"
Sure, it's a "small" and "private" station, but not much happens without the knowledge or approval of their intelligence services, which basically run their govt.
And how much money and armaments have we sent to Pakistan which is then used to support terrorism and against India who should be our natural ally?
As I understand “the Bush Doctrine” which some interviewe tried to stump Sarah Palin with, is the if you are not with us, if you aid and abet or harbor terrorists. then you are just as bad as the terrorists and we will get you (example: The Taliban in Afghanistan). Pakistan has been sheltering Al Qaida and the Taliban ever since we chased them out of Afghanistan, and neither Bush nor Obama had the the guts to do anything about it.
billion$$$
hmmm I guess we are not sending enough money!! has there ever been a more direct example of funding our enemies???
Pathetic...
Financial, military and technological support should go to India. That would send these Pakis...packin.
I’m sick to death of spending all the support we do on these evil ingrates. The Pakis have been this way for decades...but liberal pols have turned a blind-eye to it like they always do...”lets be nice-nice and chat with these folks...they’ll see it our way “</sarcasm>
Miss India yet? How do you like India now? lol
Got a picture?
I got Miss Pakistan...

I don’t think she is halal.
“The reaction shows the problem facing the United States”...
What problem? These a-holes won’t get these sand bastards so we will, FUP!
This is what we call "smart diplomacy".
Does anyone think our politicians are going to quit sending billions overseas? There could be millions returning in the form of donations. Has Congress found a way around, public or taxpayer funding of elections? It was once a huge deal, and Congress was asking for taxpayer funding of all elections. I did not agree btw, and I’m simply a nobody. Or does taking from the taxpayers and setting up a political slush fund money laundering operation never happen when dealing with nations overseas? I do not have the answer to these questions, though one would think the information (as to the truth) could be found, unless coded (no name) bank accounts are rampant worldwide.<— Or is this the reason, we are unable to track and expose what is truly taking place with giving billions of taxpayer dollars to foreign nations? Maybe average Americans are not the enemy? There are ongoing Congressional Hearings to root out the corruption of our politicians so Americans can see them taken to censorship hearings, ethics complaints investigations, though the possibility of true corruption has never been investigated. One would think there would be more than winking at one another going on if this is taking place in our Congress, of course proving it is the problem and have never heard of Congress investigating this possibility, so this problem does not exist per Congress. Not convinced here btw.
Uggh.... stop complaining!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again:
The United States without Pakistan as an ally is like a fish without a bicycle.
