Mitt Romney is out with a hard hitting ad against Rick Perry's support for tuition for illegal immigrants in Texas. Romney hits hard, pointing out that Perry's policy was in line with President Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid.
The ad centers on a 2003 statement from Vicente Fox, the former president of Mexico, praising the Texas decision and thanking Perry for giving immigrants access to American schools.

romney’s making perry pay dearly for his illegals college education on the cheap
while americans pay more for out-of-state and subsidize the illegals’ health, public and university educations.
As much as I loathe Romney, Perry would even be a greater disaster.
Americans aren’t paying anything more. All anyone, from any state has to do is live in Texas 1 year and they get in-state tuition. Illegals have to have been there 3 years and meet a whole lot of other criteria. It’s the same with 10 other states and there are now 20 considering the same thing because allowing them in-state tuition is cheaper then jail. Feds won’t remove them, better to have them educated then fighting in gangs.
that’s not true.
i was accepted to a ph.d. program in texas,
voted in the 2004 election for w, got tx license plates, and
drivers license.
i did not get in-state tuition.
this same scenario plays itself out often across the united states.
What is the other criteria? Do they check out what the illegal parents have earned legally? Have they paid taxes? If so, with what SSN did they use? Were they on the dole with tax payer dollars? Is any of this checked out? I don't buy this bogus argument that we must educate them or they will become gang members. That criteria is not applied to American citizens. I've never heard the argument that we must give special privilege to American citizens to keep them from becoming gang members. Perry is completely wrong on this issue, and I will (for the first time} write in a candidate if he is selected by the GOP.
All of these candidates have their strenghts and weaknesses. I wish there was some constructive way that we could use this forum to discuss those strengths and weaknesses and actually come to a decision on who would actually be best to change the direction we are heading in spiritually, culturally and economically.
Romney can talk forever and I WILL NOT vote for him for anything EVER.....
He is an Obozo mini meme...
Nothing will ever change that.
NEVER!
Hear that Elitist Pubbies.
It’s easy to top that. Obambi endorsed RomneyCare!
If the Republican voters are going to make the in state tuition as the most important issue of this primaries campaign then they can have Romney as their nominee. It is either Perry or Romney and there is no other despite the strong delusions of some who think that someone else can be the nominee. You want to destroy Perry because the son of an illegal immigrant got an in state tuition then you are going to get Romney the most liberal nominee in modern times.
Exactly. However for some “conservatives” Jose the son of an illegal immigrant paying in state tuition in Texas is vastly more dangerous than Romneycare and Obamacare.
Obamna endorsed Romney’s healthcare plan.
i’m not for romney, nor will i vote for him if he is the nominee.
my choices are in order:
1. palin
2. cain
This is a son of a bitch who supported baby killing into his late 40's and supports homosexual "marriage" and forced all Mass residents who work to buy medical insurance or be fined by the Mass department of Revenue.
His grandfather was a polygamist and his clan of cowards all somehow have managed to avoid MILITARY SERVICE,(yet he he running for CIC).
At least the Kenyan muslim Baraka Hussein vacationer in chief doesn't pretend to be a conservative.
FLIP MYTH SLICK WILLARD RINO ROMNEY needs to be destroyed.
You should have said you were an illegal alien.
My question is what does Texas or the US get for giving them a tuition break? Do you then say that employers can hire them legally?
No, but if they can get themselves legalized, they will be an addition to society. Texas decided that a couple thousand in discounted tuition beats $30,000 a year for housing a prisoner, and it’s not discounted below their own, it’s just an opportunity.
