CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) - The United States Secret Service have a man in custody after he interfered with First Lady Michelle Obama's motorcade Friday night.
The Target 12 Investigative Team has learned that while the First Lady was en route to T.F. Green Airport Friday night, a man from New Hampshire attempted to interfere with her motorcade while driving along Route 37 in Cranston.
Cranston Police noticed the pick up truck the man was driving while the motorcade rode through Cranston and ordered to vacate the area, but later saw the same truck pulled over along Rte. 37.
Police ordered the man out of the truck while they searched his vehicle and found a duffle bag full of loaded magazine clips, but no gun. Police have also said there's no indication the man could have tossed a weapon from the vehicle.
The man is now being examined and is in the custody of the Secret Service.
First Lady Michelle Obama was not harmed during the incident and officials said she may not even have been aware anything was wrong.
