From everything I have read and learned there is a severe lack of capable leaders in AQ. A strike like this is far more damaging than people realize and AQ in the Arabian Peninsula will take years to recover.
Despite the libertarian concerns, and I certainly understand them, this was too good to pass up.

The usual suspects always say this will only goad them to retaliation but other voices say the elimination of competent leadership does indeed cripple them. Not to mention cooling the ardor of more talented prospects (into considering a career change).
