AGUA PRIETA, Mexico "My wife, my son I have to get back to them," Daniel kept telling himself, from the moment he was arrested in Seattle for driving with an expired license, all the way through the deportation proceeding that delivered him to Mexico in June.
Nothing would deter him from crossing the border again. He had left his hometown at 24, he said. Twelve years later, he spoke nearly fluent English and had an American son, a wife and three brothers in the United States. "Ill keep trying," he said, "until Ill get there."
This is increasingly the profile of illegal immigration today. Migrant shelters along the Mexican border are filled not with newcomers looking for a better life, but with seasoned crossers: older men and women, often deportees, braving ever-greater risks to get back to their families in the United States the country they consider home.

Where’s the “barf alert”?
McCain and Boehner read this.
And wept incessantly.
I was very moved by this. If family unity is that important to them, might it not be worthwhile to have the reunion as soon as possible, say, in Guadalajara?
Wonder if they weep for the all the little girls that raped by Mexican invaders? Or those killed by the drunk Mexicans?
Wonder if they weep when they read La Raza’s and La Mecha’s plan for the Reconquista?
No. more likely give them in-state tuition.
Next time he’ll kill somebody while driving drunk and the NY Times will not cover it.
Just another example of our un-enforced current laws.
Re-entry is supposed to result in prison terms, but is generally ignored unless a death of major related crime is also involved.
Re-entry needs to get the invader at least three years in the Fed. pen, not less, no exceptions, and the only “reunification” allowed has to take place in the invaders home country.
Maybe if they had the families they claim to love so much in their own country they might have an incentive to “work hard, seeking a better life”, in that home country!
I can understand his desire to be with his wife and son. Perfectly understandable. Is there something preventing them from joining him in Mexico, the country in which he's legally entitled to live?? Oh, he wants to be with his family IN THE COUNTRY OF HIS CHOOSING, whether or not he's entitled to live there. Different story entirely.
No
It’s a dumb idea
“Right now, my children are alone, my wife is alone caring for the kids by herself theyve separated us.”
Why doesn’t he take his wife and kids to live with him?
When a member of the U.S. military with a wife and kids gets transferred, he takes his family with him, even though the kids are “going to a home they’ve never known.”
I’ve never seen a New York Times article or editorial lamenting how heartless it is for the armed forces to transfer someone to a new duty station and cruelly force them to either leave his wife and children behind or take them “to a home they’ve never known.”
I am here to tell you that it is common practice in the fed courts to allow a illegal invader who commits a crime to opt to “voluntarily deport” rather than go through a trial. This happens multiple times and often they come back under another assumed name.
It’s also a common tactic by the illegal invaders to get a “legitimate” job to draw less attention to themselves and deal dope in the evening when they get off work.
This “poor guy” is an idiot. He lives in one of the few states that give licenses to illegals, yet he lets his license expire. Every one of these sob stories has a catch, a DUI, fraud, DWLS, or some other contact with law enforcement.
I went to junior and senior high school with a lot of "army brats". They seemed to be a well adjusted group.
Of course, that was in Oklahoma, not Mexico.
Because they are collecting benefits here.
No matter how they are deported we are supposed to be taking their “Biometrics”, fingerprints, etc.
No matter what name they re-offend under, their second illegal entry should result in prison.
Locally an illegal alien unlicensed driver was plastered-drunk first thing in the morning, crossed the center line and hit a local gal head-on while she was attempting to go to school.
He left the car and fled the state, supposedly back to Mexico, but I bet the authorities stopped looking at all once they knew he was out of state.
His “Fled” location was reported by his buddy the passenger, also an illegal, also drunk at the time (actually drunk 24/7 he’s a fixture around town), not prosecuted, not deported!
It seems we now only prosecute crimes that are profitable for the state/county.
Red light camera’s, 55 on the freeway, you bet!
Deport illegals, nope, that might COST money.
Making illegals subject to asset forfeiture may be the only way to get our states and counties to show any real interest in deporting them.
After 12 years you’d think his English would be perfecct.
