(CNN) -- The ink had barely dried on the order signed by Judge Sharon Lovelace Blackburn, allowing most of Alabama's anti-illegal immigration law to go into effect, when fear settled into some in the state's Hispanic community.
"We are in panic mode," said Maria Morales, an illegal immigrant living in Montgomery.
The law known as HB56 is the strictest in the country, allowing police officers to ask about the legal status of people investigated for a crime, if reasonable suspicion exists, and detain them for immigration authorities.
"We cannot even go out and buy food," Said Perla Perez, who has lived in Alabama for the past five years without legal status.
The law also requires public schools to ask about the legal status of children born in foreign countries and that of their parents.
"I'm not afraid for myself," said Perez, who has two U.S.-born children. "If they want to deport me, that is fine. But then what would happen to my children? Who will take care of them?" she said.

Talk about love my children, she is like saying, I leave them here to become your problem, never enters her mind to have children go with her..
In related news, harsh laws against bank robbery make bank robbers nervous.
So, if they commit a crime, then they might be caught. And they are nervous? Do they literary rob people every time they go out?

Has a nice ring to it:)
Oh, no!!! What about the ninos?!?!?
undocumented, no they’re illegal
dream act, no it is amnesty.
Gay no they’re homosexuals
and so it goes on and on with the name game.
how about the fools which states they have no broken a law and we need to go after the ones which have, HUH they broke the law as soon as they crossed the border so AZ enforces the law and they get sued while MA ignores the law and they get fed funding.
she takes them back so this crap of breaking up families is pathetic , once they are deported they take their kids with them after all they’re what they are too
I have a simple solution: GO F-ING HOME. Take your little anchors with you.

Earth to CNN:
It’s “Illegal Aliens,” not “undocumented immigrants”.
Just thought you’d like to know, since you all are just “journalists”, not a normal productive member of society.
In one school system here in Alabama that has a high population of immigrants there were a lot of children who were removed by parents from school and many others who did not show up since the ruling.
Move to Maryland. Governor Martin O'Money and Casa de Maryland will welcome you with open arms.
Just move to Texas and enroll in college!
That’s the beauty of the 10th amendement. The people of Alabama chose this, now let the so-called “sanctuary” states take them in. We’ll see down the road how that works out.
Good for Alabama! I have always liked Alabama.
The solution to her problem is simple. Go back to Mexico and take your children with you. Many American citizens are reared in foreign countries. Our missionaries do it all the time. Many of our oil industry personnel rear their American citizen children in Saudi Arabia. No problem. When her children become of age, as American citizens, they can return to the USA with all the benefits and privileges of any other American citizen. But momma and poppa must go home.
Some? We’ve been hearing all weekend from the state run “media” that they all disappeared or “vanished”. Which is it?
