PERUGIA, Italy — It was silent in the courtroom for a long time after Amanda Knox, the now-exonerated American woman, was led into an Italian courtroom for the last time. A presiding judge spoke. We heard not a word from the jury. And then she was declared “innocenta.”
And then anger erupted in the streets outside.
News crews — mostly Italians — alternated between filming and shouting “Vergogna! Vergogna!” (“Shame! Shame!”) for the first five minutes.
A mass of people took up the calls of “Shame!” outside the courthouse, and in a second gathering area nearby.
Italy's Corriere Della Sera newspaper reported that the angry mob on the streets of Perugia also shouted "Bastards!" and "Bought!"

The more I read about the testimony, the more convinced I became that she was lying. I couldn’t agree with you more strongly. If someone has an alibi, they should be able to just come right out and say it.
The simple truth most often rings with authenticity, and deceit and deception is like a rotting carcass that smells worse with every passing day and every change in its condition. When someone gives an alibi that is not only changed, but dramatically changed multiple times that alone usually sets off truth detectors.
I’m not necessarily a pro-cop kind of person by default, but I have found out over the years that most cops, even the run-of-the-mill street cops, have a BS detector that is fairly well calibrated and attuned. Perhaps it is because their job often requires them to deal with some of the worst parts of society, but they seem to know better than anybody when a story smells fishy.

My impression that Knox knows more than she divulged to the police, but 1) highly unlikely a murderer; and 2) there is no evidence that proves her participation in murder beyond reasonable doubt (actually in her case - doubts are overwhelming). If Knox verdict were upheld, it would be indeed bad news - that anyone could be easily framed for murder, any link to the murder scene is enough...
And remember, the professional DNA of the people who make up the news media is not much different from those same people who were agitating back in the fifties to free the Rosenbergs.

The Knox family probably did some well placed bribing,,and combined it with a professional PR campaign. Literally hiring a PR firm.
It was basically aquittal by news media.
Everyone misses the point. I doubt she set out to kill her. Probably just tried to make her have sex with that African dude. According to the other roomates, she was accusing Meredith of being a racist for not doing him. I think they tried to force something, hoping she would get into it. (as was a theme in one of Amandas short stories)
But the girl fought and screamed, they shut her up. And then they had a dead roomate and one big problem. SO they came up with those sophomoric alibis.
Sorry, i don’t see anything but deceit and a total whore in Amanda. Shes just a more educated version of Casey Anthony, with a twist of Washington state liberal culture. thats all i see in her.

Then you could review that SHE told the cops she screwd 7 guys since she got there. (in college girl math, that probably means double)
Then you could ask her SURVIVING roomates. They think she did it,, and were disgusted by her nonstop man parade to her bedroom and vibrator out, right by their toothbrushes.

Guilty or innocent that Knox may have been, the angry reaction of the Italians was just old-fashioned anti-Americanism.
