NEW YORK ...........The details of Cain's 15-minute presentation to 500 or more movers and shakers in the Big Apple were considered "off the record," but WND can report that after the presentation, Cain received a standing ovation from the assembled crowd.
......Cain drew parallels to former President George H.W. Bush, who in 1980 lost the nomination to Ronald Reagan but signed on to become his vice president:
"If it is the right nominee, someone that I can respect and that I believe I can work with," Cain said of accepting the vice presidential nomination, "then I would obviously seriously consider it."
The candidate refused to retract his recent criticism of Texas Gov. Rick Perry over a racial profanity found on property the Perry family often used, but he also dismissed the ensuing controversy:
"I made a statement and I stand by it," Cain said. "However long that was on that rock was insensitive. I am done with that issue. I am not going to go back and dig it up. I don't believe that the 'N' word on that rock represents in any way how Governor Perry feels about black people. I am not going to fan that flame because I don't believe there is any fire."

Cain also rejected concerns about the "legal propriety" surrounding the recent killing of al-Qaida leader Anwar al-Awlaki, who was an American citizen:
"If you had a convicted murder in this country who escaped from prison, the fact that he was an American citizen and escaped from prison, would you not shoot him?" Cain asked.

I’m not of the “pick your pony” gang mentality type mindset. I’ll vote for the best person (declared candidate or not) I can find when the general election comes up. I’m not into the two party nonsense our Founding Fathers explicitly warned us against falling prey to. If the best I can find is a Republican, so be it, if not, so be that, too.
Conservative =/= Republican
Thanks for your clear post.
According to Border Agents, the more accurate number is 30-40 million ILLEGALS.
The 10-12 million estimate has been around for 20+ years.
Yes but your candidate says I don’t have a heart.
Perry said I don’t have a heart. Sorry he’s done.
And what did he do about enforcing immigrations laws? Nothing, Why? Because the man has not been elected to any office where he had to make any decision on any issue. TALK is cheap, very cheap, it is actions that matter.
Do we REALLY know what this guy truly stands for or are Cain supporters giving him a pass because he is black? They sounds like a lot like most Obama supporters I’ve heard. Cain is playing you people, just because he SAYS he’s *conservative* doesn’t mean squat, he needs to walk the walk instead of talking the talk, and what he has said lately isn’t too impressive.
He’s “done with that issue”, wonderful. He threw a *racist* bomb then walks away. Coward.
You’re welcome. Thank you for your contribution to the thread, as well. Have a god evening.
Very Gracious of him.
I am starting not to trust Cain.
So, you’re a Romney supporter?
You obviously have no clue about the race card then. Romeny said Perry did worse, yesterday. Did he use the race card? How about Perry calling us heartless...did he use the race card? There are reasons to support Cain...namely, that eh is the ONLY Conservative running with a chance.
(I'd prefer Cain as the head of the ticket for succession purposes.)
Cheers!
They aren’t...they are the ones still propping him up with phony polls, etc. It has been rumored that it was the GOP who is trying to undermine Perry because they see him as unelectable. He is a disaster and he won’t win. that will leave a void for a Conservative vs. Romney (with the Grumpy old man hanging around too)...that Conservative will be Cain.
So, you think that we support Cain because he is black. Are you racist? why are you playing the race card?
They called Palin stupid on the basis of the Couric and Charles Gibson ambushes, but three-year-old interviews don't count much when she's had two New York Times bestsellers and given speeches and live appearances all over the place since then.
Cheers!
Seems Cain and Bachmann both are trying to help Romney.
I object. Dan Quayle was much quicker on his feet in debate settings.
Some of the posts here indicate that some people are only supporting him because he is black, you can’t deny that. NOW YOU’RE playing the *race card*. See what I did? I can say you’re racist too. The FACT is Cain played the race card. I cannot forgive him for that, and if you can, more power to you. I think he has damaged himself and he can’t put that *racist* card back in the deck no matter how hard he tries. So go ahead and call me racist because I don’t agree with your choice and because I dare criticize your candidate, it doesn’t mean a thing to me. And because you pulled the race card on me on behalf of defending Cain, you proved my point, he is not what we need in a president if he can resort to pulling the race card just to gain some *cred*. This country has been there done that with Obama and look where we are now.
