Good point. I remember Reagan at the edges for years, derided and marginalized. His election was actually Goldwater’s win, and over a decade in the making.

Reagan wasn’t liked by the GOP establishment and it took him 25 years to get a nomination. The country will be sh*t in 25 years, the very hard decisions needed to be now, and Palin was the only one with the trust factor needed to do this.
