Following Governor Christies announcement on Tuesday top GOP official and bundler Gerogette Mosbacher told reporters, We do not consider Perry a factor We know who will be our nominee. Race for 2012 reported:
Those words were spoken today by Georgette Mosbacher, RNC Finance Co-Chair and huge GOP fundraiser, after Chris Christies announcement. The we is all the big bundlers, fundraisers, and money folks who have been sitting on the sidelines waiting for the field to be set and that quote represents the coalescing around Mitt Romney that is expected to happen rather quickly now. Mosbacher went on to say:
I think tomorrow, well be contacting one another and probably put something together with Romney
And I would say that the race is now Romney and Obama. Quite frankly, the enthusiasm wasnt there at the outset. Hes less conservative than a lot of us would like. However, our first and foremost goal is to defeat Obama. And we do believe Romney, in terms of independents, will be a strong candidate. We will coalesce behind him now
the time has come to get behind him
Tomorrow Ill be on the phone all day. Quite frankly, itll be easier, because now we know who it is who will be our nominee. So we will pull our Rolodexes out and get to work.

She is a Cristian. He is a MKormon. What do you thihk she would do?
Have we evr had a bleached blonde in the White Hous? oh, maybe Hilary.
I should have known her at IU "way back when" but she apparently did not gravitate to the circles of Conservative Republicans, particularly not the Catholic Conservative Republicans, nor even the Lutheran Conservative Republicans, nor just the residual elements of the Blue Room.
So, who was she messing with? Acacia perhaps? Or, was she involved with the History Department instructional staff?
All America really needs to know.
What would the kids know about what kind of trouble our country is in. geez. thats what upsets me about this whole thing. Nobody (including Sarah) seems to be considering what is best for the future of the country.
Doesn’t Palin know that some of us are afraid of the future right now ? atleast she could have addressed the country in a formal speech about her decision. not just leave her supporters hanging
she is a “what could have been” and thats so sad
My reaction also. "We the elite have decided, now all you little people can just behave yourselves and follow the program as we have outlined it. Be sure to vote Romney in the primaries!"
Annoy the GOP Establishment - Vote for Cain
We may have a contingent of Establishmentarians here who need to be OUTED.
Some of them are probably in Mossbacher's date book.
The focus should be on getting the most conservative electable primary candidate.”
Yep.
And that is exactly what I said.
And...thinking ahead, failing that, then what?
Incidentally, VP is what you make of it. I don’t think Cheney was powerless. I don’t think even Gore was powerless. Heaven knows, George Bush was WAY TOO powerful, what with putting in Baker and his other buddies all around Reagan.
Biden is probably powerless, but that is not because of the position, it is because he’s Biden.
DeMint would not be powerless (and Palin would not have been powerless).
Clearly Newt or that Obama China ambassador is not the answer.
Santorum probably no, so the only realistic options are Cain and Perry.
Both have some disadvantages so we have to settle one of the less than perfect candidates.
Perry is pro-illegal conservative who will be crushed and embarrassed in debates and State Media interviews. We learned from GWB failures that communication skills are essential.
Cain is true conservative, but has poor judgement (e.g. took the bait and raised race-card against Perry) and is clueless in foreign policy (didn’t know palestian “right to return” demand concept and opposed targeted killings before flip-flopped).
Given everything, I would like to go with Cain if he can demonstrate he can handle the pressure and gets serious in foreign policy. Smart move for Cain would be to get John Bolton as foreign policy advisor.
With that statement, plus other reasons, Sarah Palin bows out of the Presidential race. She realizes supporting the current Tea Party members in Congress, and getting new ones elected is the Only Chance there is to stop the out of control Government Spending. We all know Romney won't back any reductions, so it will be up to Conservative members of the House and Senate.
It will still be an uphill battle!
Suggests that Perry’s $17M from Q3 did not come from establishment donors.
Exactly. VP is meaningless.
Gerogette Mosbacher told reporters, We do not consider Perry a factor We know who will be our nominee.*****
Really a telling statement. Arrogance and condescension dripping from every word. In Mosbacher’s head there simply is no world outside of the NY-DC axis. No money, no power, no one who really even matters outside of the northeastern financial/political nexus.
It’s gonna take some very deep pockets to take on the Myth and the establishment cabal in a national election.
I will play along though--Nancy Reagan.
You are a pathetic traitor!
I know Track kept her from running for an office before. Can’t think of which one it was at the moment. But he didn’t want the media scrutiny - he was in high school at the time. I don’t think Willow wants the scrutiny either. I believe they are mistaken if they think that her not running for POTUS will make any difference in that regard. If she is going to be an activist, the attacks and trash will be just as intense, if not more so.
Oh, well! What can ya do?
The GOP has thrown in the towel as potential leaders bow out or stay out.
