Back in the “40’s”, “50’s” and “60’s we had oysters in little 6 oz. cans labeled “Niggerhead” and for awhile, “Negrohead”, wondering if this is the place they canned them.

A wealthy local gal has a huge collection of “Black Folk Art”, antique lawn-boys and lawn-jockeys, old advertising signs, up to original oil paintings.

Until her father passed away a couple of years ago a fair amount of it was on public display in his casino/museum.

She has lots of it on display in her house, with much more in storage.
Some of her pieces are very valuable, so she’s not the only collector.

She also host 4H and other youth meetings.
The first time anyone made any negative comment on her collection was pretty recently.
She pointed out that history hidden is history lost, revisionist, dishonest, and that it is her house, so if it REALLY bothers them they are welcome to not visit in the future.

So far no one is boycotting her events.
