This one is especially distasteful because it was originally the idea of Republicans to do this when the Democrats were filibustering Bush's judicial nominations.

It was John McCain who formed the Gang of 14 to find a "compromise" that prevented the Republicans from exercising the "nuclear" parliamantary process to force the rule change, but apparently, the Democrats filed the plan away for their own future use against weak Republicans.

Oh I know, that is just one of the MANY reasons I had a hard time voting for McCain- it truly was a “lesser of two evils” vote.
