i also am leaning Newt, not that I alone make a difference.
As for his personal baggage, even though it is not good, my plan to deal with it would be STay on message, economy, drilling, security, make a comparison about Democrat morals. He really is the smartest guy up there, but his leadership skill and spine of course are what we wonder about. We can only hope he will grow one, if he maybe he senses our support and then worries if he loses it.
Disappointed about Sarah not running, though i expected her to, i understand why she isnt. I guess what fooled me was she waited so long to say no—what really changed from mid-summer?. Well she was the best potential candidate but she was not perfect either. Newt is probably a better debater but she had integrity all over him
Lately the tactic had been to claim persecution and censorship. I’ve seen several PDS types cry the blues when I link their post histories, claim ‘staling’ on my part and censorship on FRs part because they are held to account for their words.
There is a group of 6-8 of them that are building a conspiracy theory and potting a couple of us ‘cultists’ at the top. They have ‘attacked’ the viking kitties as a part of that as if they think somehow they call all the shots on FR (nuts I know) Attacked palin supporters/mods etc.
The bottom line is they were just having a tantrum because they were not allowed to run roughshod and spout their hate and BS. Then Palin said no and they went into Gloat mode...but that isn’t getting the reaction from us they want. They thought we were just going to blow away in the breeze and are furious that we still back Palin even as we move on to other candidates running.
It’s insane, but look through some of the Palin/Perry threads and you’ll see it over and over.
Than you doubt her ability to get countless Republican candidates elected, raise desperately needed money for candidates, fire up crowds and do all the other things she does? You doubt her ability now because you didn't get your way?
If you don't think that's leadership than try it some time.

Man...it was difficult to follow the news at FR the last 24 hours or so...there was this dog barking, and it just wouldn’t shut up...incessant barking that went on and on and on. Maybe the poor thing was in heat or something...in any event; I come back in after some time in the garden, and the poor animal has FINALLY quit barking...someone must have muzzled it or something...about time.
Why don’t you stop it. Sarah is very much a leader - and she’s more than a talker - and if you haven’t witnessed that these past three years and checked on all her accomplishments in Alaska - you don’t want to know, you just want to trash.

What the naysayers don’t understand is that Palin is not one of Pavlovs dogs. She cannot be bought nor ordered about. She will do what is right in HER judgment. And isn’t THAT the very reason that people trust her? She will work in a way that is the most effective and right now that is being free of any constraints and speaking the truth while owing no one in politics anything. She is free to speak the message and wield the club.
If the order was God, Family, Country, then that means that God comes before family, correct? So, what Sarah is really saying is that God told her not to run. Because if God did tell her to run, and she let her children talk her out of it, then she's not putting God first, is she? I believed she was divinely inspired to run. Guess I was wrong.

You seem personally hurt and dismayed, and that’s really a crying shame, because you have yet to consider her serious death threats that she receives daily and the fact that she has to provide her own security!
No other candidate draws the massive crowds, and Sarah Palin’s children were not in unison for her run! Could it be that they were unwilling to lose their beloved Mom to a crack pot hater or Marxist union thug during a campaign rally in one of those massive 25,000+ people crowds?
Give *that* and them some consideration! Running for POTUS is a family affair and she’s always said that her family would come first.
If you listened to the interview, you will see that they did.
I might add, that I wouldn’t put it past this corrupt administration with its *Fast & Furious* to scare the bejesus out of anyone viable threat to the Marxist’s power and according to Rush, they always smear the one they fear the most, and that was Sarah Palin.
The GOP never backed her, not once. In fact, it openly ran opposed her; trying to convince everyone from Daniels to Christie to run in order to stop her.
I’m so sorry you feel deserted. I don’t. I was devastated October 5, but yesterday I became relieved. I am glad she’s not running. She has much to do without a target on her back and she won’t be the sacrificial lamb once obama’s fraud machine goes full steam.
