Was Iran involved in 9/11?
Daily Mail ^ | 01 October 2011 9:39 PM | Melanie Phillips

Back in 2008, when the terrorist Imad Mughniyeh was killed in Damascus by a car bomb, I referred in my blog to speculation that he had been involved with al Qaeda and may even have been involved with 9/11. This would have been remarkable, since Mughniyeh was the deputy head of Hezbollah, the killing arm of the regime in Shiite Iran. Yet as we all know, al Qaeda was drawn from Sunni Islam while the Shia Muslims were their deadly rivals. So the suggestion that Iran may have been involved as well was one that few would take seriously.…

Now it appears that a lawsuit, brought by Ellen Saracini, the widow of the captain of one of the two planes that crashed into the Twin Towers, is about to make precisely this case in court, backed by a large amount of hitherto unknown secret intelligence information.…

Starting in the 1990s, Iran and Hezbollah helped Osama Bin Laden and his deputy Ayman al-Zawahiri create a new terror organization from scratch, to be headed by Afghanistan veterans and members of Egyptian Islamic Jihad. … Later, according to the lawsuit, Iran assisted in the preparations ahead of September 11.... Witness X testifies about Iran’s advance knowledge of the plan to crash passenger airliners into strategic targets in Washington and New York. He testifies that he was present at training facilities for Sunni terrorists in Iran and adds many details about the way Iran’s intelligence service utilizes legitimate Iranian organizations such as its airline and shipping company for terror aims. Witness Y testifies about Imad Mughniyeh’s personal involvement in training the September 11 hijackers and the shelter granted by Iran to al-Qaeda’s men after the attacks. …

Some say that Iranian intelligence was the real perpetrator of the Lokerbie bombing. If we knew the full story of Lokerbie, and the real story about TWA800, we might have a different view of 9/11.

Was Iran involved with PanAm 103 and did the Libyans get framed?

It's obvious that the 9/11 hijackers had received advanced training from a country or countries such as Iran, Iraq, Libya or Yemen in addition to Afghanistan.

This is especially true of the pilots. You don't just take a few hours of commercial flight training in a Cessna 172, hijack a Boeing 767 and then fly the plane for the first time and crash it into a building on a suicide mission.

It's just not that easy and, based on the video tapes, the pilots showed great skill in maneuvering the planes such that they caused the maximum amount of damage to the buildings. There is simply no way a low time could fly that well

It's much more plausible that the actual pilots who flew the planes had been trained extensively in large passenger jet at least the size of a Boeing 727. Since there is no records of this, they must have been been flying in a country where they could train and practice flying in a 7x7 type plane in secret with no record of their flight training. The resources and money required to train 4-8 pilots in a 7x7 type plan would have been huge.

This pretty much rules out all but a few countries where such training could have occurred. Candidate states would be places like Iran, Iraq, Libya, Pakistan, North Korea and Saudi Arabia (but if they had the official sanction of the Saudi Government). For secrecy, their training would most likely have been conducted out of a secure military base with military pilots doing the training

The 9/11 pilots who went out and flew around in Cessnas at US flight schools and who expressed no interest in practicing landings were most likely intentionally planting that story to provide cover and deniability for the terrorist state who actually sponsored their secret training

Imad Mughniyeh was responsible for the death by torture of CIA Station Chief William Buckley. Mughniyeh's death was a good thing considering his bloody history.

Iran should have ceased to exist Nov 5th, 1979, but we had no president then either.

Following that, the Islamic Republic should have ceased to exist on January 20th, 1981 and the Shah reinstalled; not only that, the Sinai given back to Israel and the whole "pan-Arab" movement crushed by US troops. I'm left wondering what happened there.
