Exclusive report by Gun Rights Examiner
The ATF, the agency that's supposed to stop gun smuggling, turned a blind eye for years, as hundreds of guns walked across the Mexican border, Sharyl Attkisson of CBS News reported Wednesday. The subject of the report was licensed firearms dealer Mike Detty, who volunteered to become a confidential informant for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives after he suspected straw purchases were being made by suspicious customers to arm drug cartels.
The federal government under the Bush administration ran an operation that allowed hundreds of guns to be transferred to suspected arms traffickers - the same tactic that congressional Republicans have criticized President Barack Obama's administration for using, two federal law enforcement officials said Tuesday, Peter Yost of the Associated Press also reported on Wednesday.
Both reports focused on the Operation Wide Receiver program, a gun interdiction effort now being compared as an earlier parallel to Fast and Furious, unsruprisingly by the same media outlets that have been providing cover fire for the administration throughout the unfolding "Project Gunwalker" story.
There were significant differences, however, Detty advised Gun Rights Examiner yesterday via email. As background, this correspondent has been communicating with him since March of this year, introducing him to investigators for the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform in August. This has not been reported on previously due to guarding Dettys interests, and the same commitment not to exploit information shared in confidence that whistleblowing ATF agents have learned to trust.
Because some of the new reports have created no small amount of speculation about Bush administration involvement in what some are representing to be an identical enterprise, Detty felt compelled to offer clarification, and has consented to sharing his observations:

Gunwalker ping.
Now I see why Dante put the hypocrites into the lowest rings of hell
The war of 1812 was Bush’ fault, so Obama can do anything he wants.
We were prepared for this.
From the beginning, we warned people not to use the term Project Gunrunner because that was a Bush program.
Obama transformed Gunrunner into Fast & Furious.
We knew they would try to confuse the issue by talking about the program under Bush, so when the DOJ planted these stories in the media, they were quickly debunked.
Fast & Furious is a criminal conspiracy to send firearms from US dealers into Mexico where they can be found at crime scenes and used to support the lie made by Obama that 90% of the weapons found in Mexico came from the US.
The criminal conspiracy gets larger as people died as a result of these firearms.
The criminal conspiracy gets larger as BATFE agents purchased weapons themselves (using taxpayer money) and resold the same to drug cartel members.
The criminal conspiracy gets larger as DOJ, who oversees BATFE, was involved in the details of this operation even though it has been denied, but exposed as a lie with documentation.
The criminal conspiracy gets larger as gun control groups, when visiting the DOJ to ask for more gun control legislation, were told in a private meeting with Obama that his administration was “working under the radar” on the gun control issue.
Obama, when asked about Holder, proclaimed his own ignorance of this program. Why would he do that? He was not asked about his involvement.
This article is as clear as mud.
Apparently the Strategic Air Command was the transportation . /s
When you positively have to get them there PDQ.
I noticed that—I read it and reread it, and I still couldn’t figure out what exactly it said.

No problem, point out that, under Bush, the guns contained tracking devices and no guns went unrecovered. Under Obama/Holder, countless guns crossed the border without accountability.
