Cain drowns out Perry at Republican Showdown (VIDEO)

Cain's done more than drown Perry out, he's rolled right over him.

Next target -- Myth Romney!

The chart suggests that Cain has picked up most of his support from people jumping off the Perry bandwagon. Very little of Romney's support appears to have moved over the Cain. In fact, for the most part Romney's support has been growing right along with Cain's. They're not the same people.

Perry is in a Pickle. Cain has put him there. If Perry is to have any hope of regaining the momentum, he's going to have to take it back from Cain. His debate strategists must be going nuts. How does he attack Cain without making people think of the "n*ggerhead" flap?

Notice how Cain went up, Perry went down, and Romney wasn’t effected at all. Cain drew all his support from the other conservatives in the race, and solved a big problem for Mitt Romney, where Perry looked like he was more “inevitable” than Romney is.

But now Romney’s back to being the “inevitable candidate”. And so far, Cain hasn’t shown any ability to solve that problem — nor has he shown any inclination to WANT to, going so far as to say he’d be happy to be Romney’s VP candidate (he said ANY VP candidate except Perry, but other than Cain, the ONLY TWO people in the race that have a chance of winning so he could possibly be a VP for are Perry and Romney — and he eliminated Perry).

This is much like in 2008, where all the conservatives split the vote, and then Huckabee played stalking horse against Romney for John McCain in the hopes of getting the VP slot. Huckabee also made a big splash at the VV summit.
